I was fixing a snack. I peeled an apple and cut it into thin slices and was ready to add to the plate my last piece of feta cheese. I know, I know, not an usual combination but I love it. For me the two tastes mix up in the best way and I often eat my apples with a bit of feta cheese. It's not bad. Apples are healthy and feta cheese might be a bit salty but I do have low blood pressure so no biggie. I opened the container where I had my last piece of feta and then my cat bailey moved behind me and I turned to him dropping my feta on the floor. Bailey decided to try it right there and then while I looked in despair LOL I had been thinking about this snack, and indeed was already tasting it in my mind. And now the whole image was gone.... The apple by itself did not have the same appeal and even though I end up cutting a bit of cheddar which is a favorite too, it was not the same thing. But anyway, my question is, what kind of unusual food combination do you like? Things like normally people would not think about them together. Like chips and chocolate - yes I like that too LOL banana or apple with cheese, orange with pecans... stuff like that :)

Cats can be so sneaky can't they. All that work and now no feta cheese. What a disappointment for you. times like these you wonder if you really like your kitty even when you know that you wouldn't be with out them. I usually have my apple with a sprinkling of salt since I don't like cheese of any kind unless it is hidden in a salad or melted in something.

Oh, too bad. That sneaky cat. I love apples and feta as well, also apples and cheddar and oranges and any kind of nuts. Also pears and goat cheese, brie cheese and dried cranberries but I have never tried chips and chocolate.

Ah... fine taste, my friend:) I have heard of other people liking apple and cheese, but oranges and nuts I thought I was the only one :):)Pears and goat cheese I'm not sure I have tried but sounds like a winning combination. THe chips and chocolate thing is the least healthy thing on my list, and I rarely eat it, but I really like the way both tastes combine. It has to be regular chips and a light milk chocolate.

I like to dip bananas in grape jam! Um...I also like fried salted potatoes (doesn't have to be just french fries) in ice cream. Salt and sugar together is just...awesome. Potatoes with cheese is also pretty good, but I don't want that all the time. Peanut butter on celery's been a snack my Mom and I have eaten since I was little, but I'm not sure how odd that really is. I also like pumpkin and black cherry ice creams mixed together as a milkshake. It tastes like a funky kind of chocolate.

I have never liked feta cheese, but I can imagine how disappointed yu were. My daughter once played a game with my husband. Everytime we went out to eat she would dare him to eat some weird combination of foods. I think the strangest was chocolate covered shrimp. He said he actually like it. Yuck! I like chocolate and I like shrimp, but not together. I like oranges and chocolate together.

I like your daughter already LOL It's by trying different combinations that fine recipes often come to life. Shrimp with chocolate...mmm worth giving a try, I guess. Never thought of that one :) Oranges and chocolate I never tried either. But sounds like a good combination as well, specially if the oranges are not to acid.

Oops! Probably most people would regard most of what I eat as a rather unusual combination, but probably my strangest is mixing wheat grass juice with chocolate drink mix, milk and ice cubes, blended into a milkshake. That will gross people out, but it gives me vim and vigor, lol, and actually tastes quite yummy with a few other ingredients added, such as pineapple juice, etc.

NOthing can be gross specially with pineapple juice added :) But I have no idea of what wheat grass juice is. I never heard of it before. I think that people often get grossed up by the idea itself, but if they tried they would find it can be good.

Hmmmm that does sound pretty good to me. I hate when your thinking about a certain snack your craving and then you dont have it. I like to put different kinds of foods together too. Hey great minds think alike!heheheheheh

I bet it is tasty..I love sweet and salty together. I used to sprinkle salt on slices of apple for a snack. I also like salty chopped nuts mixed into cookie recipes. I saw a weird combo today. I was reading a magazine and saw a recipe for apple pie with a sweet crumble topping with bacon and cheddar mixed in...it didn't look very appealing to me :p
