American singles? Swiss or cheddar? I have a friend who uses Velveeta. That's just too much for me.

Provolone is my favorite cheese to put on a grilled cheese. I discovered grilled cheese made with provolone one day when my son wanted a grilled cheese and that is all we had in the house. I have used Velveeta before and it is ok, but if I am going to use a yellow cheese I usually use American.

I love grilled cheese sandwiches and make them quite often. I love making them with Velveeta Single slices, the cheesier the better . If Velveeta isn't available I use two slices of American Singles. Now my husband only likes one slice of cheese on his. I have tried cheddar and colby but didn't like it as much. I haven't tried provolone,Swiss or pepper jack although I love these cheeses alot. Hmmm,Might try that pepper jack next time.

My favorite cheese to use in a grilled cheese sandwich is Pepper Jack cheese. I love 'spicy' things and this cheese makes the perfect grilled cheese sandwich for me. I also like to use Colby-Jack cheese sometimes when I am out of Pepper Jack cheese. I love it's creaminess.

Cheddar. I don't like Velveeta much, although I used to use it exclusively for grilled cheese sandwithes. I don't think I would make a grilled swiss cheese sandwich unless it also contained ham.
