School Phobia: Of course some kids are afraid to go to school!

I agree with the write in the second article. some of the teachers are so boring as is some of the classes. Schools can be very scary places and some of the teachers are just plane mean and scary. they can be so abusive and ti takes time to find these teachers. With the bullies its a wonder that any kid wants to go to school.

when I was young I never had any friends and so when I went to school for the first time it was hard, I never went to recess just stayed in the classroom pretending to be sick until the teacher finally forced me to go out in the yard and then I would just watch the other kids, I hated beign around them, I was afraid of them and they used to call me names.

After reading the last one to me the other thing to do is Home schooling whih alot of poeple are doing now. And if you yourself is afraid for them to go to school as trhe many shootings hat is going on this passes to the child the feelings do and then it makes them afraid to go I see no phobia in this tho. And I have even suggested to my daughter if grand daughter feels this way we might have to home school her. Right now we are going thru the preschool book that we bought from wal mart grand daughter is doing well in the counting and picking out the big and smal pics and picking out all the same animals and counting them once in awhile she jumps to 880 100 when its 123 lol Now writting is something else she is good with os and Hs she draws os every where even the walls. Just takes time to teach them also she is to know all this before going to school and right now she wants to she is 3 . But thats not to say she will want to at the time to really go.

I actually had terrible school phobia when I was a kid but I didn't really know what it was. I didn't realize the problem until I got older and was actually diagnosed with an anxiety disorder. Then I realized that all the problems I had were issues with anxiety and school. I'm in college now and I still have anxiety so it really hasn't gone away for me.

Hello miamilady. It is true that some kids have school phobia. I remember when I was at the age of six, I was taken to get registered for schooling at a primary school by my sister. I was so afraid to go there as it was a completely new world to me. I was on the shy side when facing new situations and new people.
