for guys, would you go out with a girl taller than you? for girls, would you go out with a guy shorter than you?
Man! i love this anime! its really hilarious! the All Hanshin-Kyojin (a name of a comedy duo to which Risa and Otani is being compared because of their heights and attitude towards each other) pair is really funny! i'm really thankful that this was recommended by a friend. again, she really proved to me that she has a great anime taste. ^__^
i just love how Risa and Otani conquered it all. i mean, i can understand how awkward it would be if a tall girl goes out with a short boy and vice versa. it would really be hard for them especially that they both have the height complex, they are overly conscious of their heights. its really amazing how they conquered it. ^__^
haaaah... i really had fun watching this! good thing i didn't had a lock jaw while watching this. ^__^;; its hard to suppress smiling and laughing. LOL i even enjoyed the live action movie. i hope there'd be a part two of it and season two for the anime. ^__^

I know this sounds so superficial but I am just not attracted to men who are shorter than me. Never have been. I know it shouldn't matter that it all matters on the inside but thats like a major factor to me. I'm 5 ' 7 and I will not date a guy who is shorter than me. I usually only ever date guys who are taller. I hardly ever even date guys who are as tall as me. They have to be taller

im the same way. also 5'7" lol. there's just something about a man being tall enough for you fit right under his arm without him having to stretch to make it happen lol!
for the most part, a guy doesnt often "catch my eye" unless he is at least 6'0". its not that they might not be handsome..height is just one of the first things i notice in a guy.

i feel the same as the two of you! i easily get turn off if the guy is shorter than me. i'm not as tall as you two, and i don't even think i'm tall because i'm just 5'2, but i really prefer guys taller than me. i wouldn't even like a guy with the same height as i am. i just think that it would be so awkward if i was taller than the guy.

Between 6'0 and 6'2 is perfect. I don't want my boyfriend to have to stand on a step to have to kiss me, lol hence why no shorter guys.

My last boyfriend was way way shorter than me. It did not matter at all. I don't have an issue with things like that. they are superficial really. I have never seen the show you are talking about. I can't imagine having a complex about one's height of all things. You make it sound pretty funny tho....so maybe I'll look it up and check it out.

hi sid! you have never heard of this complex before? it is usually those who are abnormally taller or abnormally shorter that experience this. but it in this anime, there's really no complex. the condition was just adopted because the main characters were taking their heights for a big deal. the girl was tall and she was always taller than any guys so she had difficulty in getting a bf. the guy was short and was always in front of the line and he certainly didn't imagine to have a gf taller than him. ^__^;;

Height should not matter, my boyfriend is slightly taller than I am, but that does not matter to me. I love him no matter what. Risa and Otani can break the mold.

if the guy is taller than the girl, then there would be no problem or any issues or whatsoever. but if the girl is taller than the guy, that's where the problem arises. Risa was taller than Otani. it was a major issue to them.

If we would be going out, it would mean that our heights wouldn't be much of a factor to one another. I'm already a tall person and if girl taller than me would go out with me, I'd surely be please about it ^_^
Hmmm, nice anime you say? Is there a manga of it? Complete or not? I would surely like to read it if possible ^_^

i know what you mean. i seldom read mangas but i am aware of that fact. its the same with Daa! Daa! Daa! the anime is already finished but the manga has a season 2 ongoing and there's no anime adaptation of it yet. and i just wish that i didn't know there was a season 2 because i am just itching to watch it as an anime! ^__^;; i don't get easily satisfied with mangas. ^__^

ah, I am already reading it as soon as I read and posted in this discussion of yours ^_^
Well, the reason I asked is that some mangas I read are still on going while they have already made anime adaptations of it.. not the entire manga story since its still on going. One of which I could give as an example would be "School Rumble" done with two seasons of anime but the manga is still on going, at least the ones I am reading on manga sites and "Suzuka" a half-way anime series that doesn't cover the whole manga or even "Kare Kano" that we all know that went further than the anime couter part that was shown on television ^_^

Height does not matter to me as I would go out with a woman that was shorter or taller than me. Height should not play a factor in whether you like or love someone. It has no relevance for me in a relationship. I like a person for who they are, not how tall or short they are or anything else on the outside. I think people can be too picky when it comes to who they date or even just hang out with. Not everyone is the same height.

but only when it comes to guys i date. i just feel uncomfortable if my date is shorter than me. but if the short guy can handle our height differences, like if he is able to make me feel that i'm "inferior" and he's "superior" even if i'm taller, then i think that would impress me. still, i don't want guys who are wayyyy shorter than me. ^__^;; about guys to hang out with, i'm okay with any height.

i dont think height really matters, but i have a tendancy to go for guys that are taller then me. my partner is only a little bit taller than me and he hates it if i wear high heels, luckily i dont wear high heels lol...

Hi,bear!Once height was a big problem between one of my best male friends and I.I was 165cm but he was only 163cm;moreover,he looked much shorter than me.Height was what he really concerned at that time (now,of course he is taller than me,so that my height will never pressure him:)).He refused to come to my birthday party coz he didn't want to go out with a girl taller than him.He added that he would show on my birthday party unless I just wore a pair of slippers!(I said no to this ridiculous demand,:P)

i'm sure he feels uncomfortable when people look at him as a short guy when he is beside you. but its only a 2cm difference! is that even noticeable? if it is, then he can wore shoes with thick soles just like those that Tom Cruise wear and other actors who are shorter than their partners. when was your birthday party?? sheng ri kuai le! (i'm sure something's wrong there. but i mean, happy birthday. )

I don't even know about animes. But, for me height doesn't really matter. People say that if a woman taller than her partner/spouse, they will have a properous life. I don't mind going out with a shorter guy though it is not my taste. As for my husband, he prefers someone shorter than him as he feels awkward to have a partner who is taller than him. Lucky for me that I am 6 inches shorter than my husband.

I would actually go out with a guy shorter than me. Because since I'm so short if I went out with a guy shorter than me it'll look like i'm going out with my brother's friends or something. I'm 4'11" so yeah i'm pretty sure and not really proud of it.

If I paid attention to height, I would've never had a date. I hit 5'5" when I was in 6th grade and by 9th grade, I was 5'11" tall, so ALL the guys were shorter than me. Height has never bothered me, but it did intimidate the guys. They thought it would be "cool" to date "the tall chic", but then, once they did, their friends would pick on them. I don't think I've ever dated anyone taller than me.

you're right when you said that tall girls intimidate the guys. i guess that's why most guys prefer girls shorter than them. but its kinda amazing to know that you haven't dated a guy taller than you! it just shows that height doesn't matter to you. good for you. ^__^

you're lucky you went in a school like that. i did too but i just feel sorry for those who experienced and experiencing bullying.
anyway, the half inch does matter! especially for people who wants to be taller with other people. i know some people like that.

I got teased a lot in 6th grade, but it was mostly in fun. I was the Jolly Green Giant lol. It wasn't in a mean way, though. Mostly in Gym class when we played certain sports my friends would say things like "Pass it to the Jolly Green Giant". I don't think we were as hateful when we were in school as kids are today. When I was 13 I met the 1st "love of my life" (or as close as he could be to a love of my life at 13) and he was the same height as me. He was the tallest guy I ever dated. Everyone else has been between 5'7 and 5'9 (although my husband swears he's 5'9 and a half - guess that extra half inch is important).

For me, no...There are many partners where girls are taller than boys and vice-versa, yet they are still successful in their marriage life. Its not really my turn off and I was open about that case way back when I was free to date!lol

i'm a very petite girl standing only 4'11". it would be really ridiculous if my boyfriend or partner would still be much shorter than me. lol! or if i'f have a very tall boyfriend i think he'd look like my father. anyway i really don't think it would matter as long as your comfortable with each other and there's love between you. it won't matter what other's would think or how they'd look at it. i've known some pairs where the girl is taller than the guy but they're okay and are happy with each other. if i am tall, i really wouldnt mind if my boyfriend is a bit shorter than me.

For me it would matter if it's a very significant height gap (if my boyfriend were significantly shorter)...I don't have a boyfriend as of now but I prefer if my boyfriend would be taller than me...Me being taller than my boyfriend, i think, would be weird.. I may look overpowering over him,. I might look like I'm superior, get what I mean? haha

i know what you mean. in my case, i'm a girl with a strong personality. what would happen if my boyfriend is shorter than me?? i would not only look like a girl with a strong personality, i would look too superior over him and people might think that i might be always taking advantage of my bf. ^__^;;

Because I am at the height of 176 cm,the chance I come across a girl taller than me is quite little.But come to the question,I will say that I don't care if she is taller than me ot not,for girls have their right to grow tall,isn't it?

of course girls have the right to grow taller. but its not like we can just grow like that easily. but yeah, i agree, boys are usually taller than girls so for tall guys like you, there's little chance that you'll come across a girl who is taller than you.
