It's time for me to write one - I have so many ideas buzzing around in my head and thought I'd ask everyone what kind of books you prefer reading to your children. Do you prefer something with a moral attached or just a nice story? Please let me have your thoughts.....

I love reading rhyming books to my kids such as the Dr. Suess books (I love Green Eggs and Ham and There's a Wocket in My Pocket), or Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. We also love books that make us laugh such as the Junie B. Jones series.

Thanks Kelly. When do you read book to your children? Before bed or anytime during the day?

Interesting question. My whole family love reading, well except for my hubby who cant understanding why people read. As for me, I encourage my kids to read a lot to improve their command of English. 30 minutes before bedtime, they have to tell me what kind of stories they read during the day. One will be chosen for reading aloud so everyone can enjoy listening. The stories vary, from a moral building story, a fairy tale one to the adventurous one. Usually, they like to listen to ghost stories which if full of suspense. The stories are of course short and easy to read ones, around 15 minutes or so.

Thank you X - that's exactly what I was after!!! Reading is such a treat, Our whole family are also readers and the kids couldn't wait to learn so they could understand why the adults always had their noses in a book :-) Hopefully you'll be reading your kids one of my stories soon... Thanks again!
