Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, Has anyone vacationed here?

I am looking to hear from anyone who has vacationed in Cabo within the last 5 years or so. We are looking to go there but while trying to find a hotel I find alot of negative comments about hotel(s) and the solicitation of properties.(time share etc.) What I want to know is if anyone has any great tips on hotels there and who has been there before and what your thoughts were about Cabo as a vacation destination. Also want to know more about the actual town of Cabo San Lucas.
