You can't take hormones? Have you been to the doctor and had blood tests? I really have no recommendations other than hormone therapy. I was thrown into early menopause, age 34, because I had surgery to remove everything. I was started on a low dose until the doctor could regulate my hormone level. I am not bothered with night sweats any longer.

I'm sorry you can't take hormones but do understand the risks involved especially with your family history. Thanks for the br.

I wake up with hot flashes some times. I wake up and I hate it too. I can't do HRT either, all the ones we looked at a few years ago had corn starch in them.

You would think they would have at least one with a binder other than corn starch, maybe capsule form with soybean and gelatin or something. Oh well, take care

I ended up taking shots that time, it was a while back. I haven't checked it since then.

I had the same problem but i didn't have night sweats though but i did have panic attacks my doctor told me i had to condition my body for sleep, as putting definite routine into my sleep habits, like go to bed earlier and around the same time, make my bedroom a place for sleep and not other things as watching TV and such, no eating or drinking before bed, I am not sure what can be done about the night sweats as i know someone who suffers from these, but here is a link that i turn to whenever i need answers about anything, maybe you might find some answers... http://www.ehow.com/Search.aspx?s=night+sweats&Options=0

Thanks, I'm not sure what the current rules are on links, but I'll check it out. Maybe we should look at the rules. I'm not having panic attacks, but my heart was racing all the time, so they put me on High Blood pressure pills that get rid of that, too. Thanks and take care.

I did HRT for awhile. It gave me headaches, and I just did not like it. For me Black Cohosh works well. I really have very few symptoms anymore. Walking more helped me with sleep, I should do it now. One other thing that seems to help lots of things, including sleep is to take Magnesium supplements. Good for headaches, muscle spasms, hormone difficulties and helps you use your calcium and sleep better, too.

Magnesium sounds doable. Took black cohosh and pro-gel, naturopathic Dr. said you should counterbalance them. But after awhile, they didn't work as well or maybe there really wasn't any in the cheaper brands, who knows, can't afford them. Magnesium and calcium sound like a possible plan. Mostly I find if I exercise enough and I free my mind of worries and my arthritis isn't bothering me, I can sleep. If I can get my arthritis to know bother me and the other two, then I sleep. But at the time I wrote this, I was waking up all the time. Right now I drink soy every day and I think that is a big help, too. Thanks and take care
