I got a new scale and it calculates your hydration level and I was wondering, How do you know what a good hydration level is for someone? Mine is in the 27% range and that sounds low to me, is it? Thanks in advance.

In the average lean adult male 60% of body weight is water. Water is abundant in most tissues in the body except adipose tissue (fat). Water makes up 45-75% of your body weight, the differences primarily related to amount of body fat. I would think with such a low level, you must have alot of adipose tissue. However, I am not familiar with how these scales work. Perhaps there is something in the user manual that came with the scale.

The problem is that it didn't come with a manual. I wrote to them and they are sending one to me. They didn't have the manual online either for the type that I got. Yes, I am overweight and slowly losing. To slow for me. It is hard for me because I have a lot of health issues from a heriated disk to many knee surgeries. So that makes it harder to work out the way that I want to. Even regular housework puts me in a ton of pain and I end up in bed with cold compresses on my back.

this is so easy. when you pee, just check your urine. if it is yellow, then your dehydrated. if it is clear then you are hydrated well.
