It is your day off and you wake up sick, do you go right back to bed and sleep it off, or do you start your regular routine regardless of how ill you feel, even if your routine is only to get up get washed and turn the computer on? Do you get dressed when you are feeling sick? what do you normally do?

I would remain in a little longer in bed and then get up and drink a cup of warm tea, and depending on how I feel I would try to start my daily rountine, but I would not push myself if I contiuue to feel ill I would take fluids and go right back to bed until I feel better.

I useally get up and will take a hot shower, take some day day quil, lay on the couch, watch some tv., I'll take naps off and on,. I will make some soup and mainly just stay low key til I feel better. I don't bother getting dressed if I know I am sick for what's the point I'm not going to be going anywhere so I stay in my pajama's.

It all depends how sick I am. I have to make sure to work online every day, so most usually I will force myself to the computer for as long as I can stand it. I try to carry on with my regular routine so I don't get too far behind on things. I usually wear sweats and a t-shirt when working at home online or shorts and a t-shirt in the summer.

Being a mom I don't get sick days. So I would get and try to do everything I normally do. If I found that I felt like I had to lay down I would, but I would definately attempt to do stuff and get things down, I never feel right if I am not doing anything. That is just me though. But I also know my limits, I had the flu in January and I would sleep maybe a half hour later every day but other than that I only really layed around and rest one day out the nearly two weeks that I was sick. But it is hard to rest because I have 3 kids and one of them is a 4 year old, and doesn't understand that mommy needs to rest.

oh I understand that, when you have kids you sleep when they do, if you are lucky.

I would just get some extra sleep then continue with my regular schedule. If I felt bad after getting up, I wouldn't push myself. To make up for being sick on my day off I might call in sick the next day.

well, when I feel sick when waking up. I usually sleep some more, at times you feel sick because you lack sleep or rest.. but when I feel that its something different, I usually try to take some medicine before going back to sleep. i can't really work well or dress properly when I feel sick..

Unless I am horribly nauseous, I always have coffee, sick or well. On the other hand, today is a day off from the day job, I am up, showered, and myLotting in my bath robe, if you can forgive that image. Wet stringy hair. I have clothes in the dryer, I will go put lotion on my arms and legs and get going, do some dishes. Hubby is grilling steaks for lunch, I will go to my second job around four p. m. I am having a hard time getting a move on right now, but should do so. If I was sick, I would go crawl back in bed. Shut the lights out, turn up the mattress warmer and sleep. Actually, writing about it makes me want to do it.

Hi Rose, I have 2 little girls to tend to. In as much as I like to stay on my bed, I will force myself to rouse up and do my usual stuff. I don't think I ever have the luxury of getting more rest since I became a mother. If I happened to be really, really sick, I will holler my best friend to pick up my girls. =)

When I wake up sick, I am really sick. I go back to bed. No one can get me out of bed as I would be rather grouchy and it make me more sick.

Hi Doll I used to be the type that just kept going no matter how sick When the combo of injury and illnesses caught up with me I found I could keep getting up As for getting dressed I often wear my pj pants or sweats unless I am going out. xoxoxoxoxoxo

I usually try to do my normal routine and NOT go back to bed or cater to myself. Usually once I shower and dress and have my coffee, I feel better. If I'm still feeling really bad which is rare, i will crawl back into bed. I'm pretty healthy (knock on wood) so it is rare...very rare that I am still feeling lousy once I shower and dress.

When I am sick I kinda have no choice to get up and do things normally. The only time Ican sleep in is if my husband offers to take care of things in the morning before he goes to sleep but the thing is I will still have to get dressed because I am a stay home mom and have to pick the kids up from school and make dinner. So basically I still have to go through my day as normal.

If I really feel very ill, I wouldn't force myself to get up. But if I know that I can still move around with my daily routines, I'd get up. A fever or a flu may keep me in bed. But little aches like headaches, muscle pain, back pain, I wouldn't stay in bed. I usually call these kinds of pain bearable pain. They won't get me down. I hate just being in bed for long, I feel so bored and helpless so if I had a fever, I'd make sure that by the next day I'm up and about my daily chores.

I don't like being sick when it's my day off. Then again, I don't get a day off.

hi winterose usually I do get dressed but since I came down with shingles yesterday I am sitting here in my nightie as I am broken out around my middle and my bra and panties hit the sorest part of my shingles. Friday I will have to dress as I have another appt. with my doctor. but today I am being kind to myself. Just took another dose of tylenol also. it helps the pain along with mylotting.

When I'm sick, the world stops and I get off. It's me and my TV and my 2 pillows and sometimes a shot or 2 of Irish whiskey. A good sleep, a good sweat and I'm usually a bit better the next day...oh and Vitamin C. I become a hermit for 24 hours because when I'm sick I hate everybody, and they hate me. That's the worst part of being ill.
