Anyone can please help me regarding earthquake. Also the difference between the Richter Scale & Mescalli scale pls? Wonder if my mentioning is perfect or not: Both are devices to measure earthquakes. Richter scale shows the strengthness of the forces/vibrations. This scale functions from 0 to 10. Each number has an increase of 10 times of the energy.So, 9 is the most powerful number. Mercalli scale shows how much damages/vibratings done by the earthquakes. This scale functions from 1 to 12 in Roman numerals. 1 shows the slightest shaking while 12 shows the strongest.
