Should we eat banana after or before meal?

I love to eat banana very much and my friend told me that we are not suppose to have banana after meals as it will add on our pounds which I sometimes do. I've read aboiut articles saying that we are not suppose to eat banana even when our stomach is empty. So.. Should we eat banana after or before meal?

i believe eating fruits is good. Banana it is good to eat after or before one hour because it has glucose which can spoil your hunger. If taken after meals it gives more work for liver and stomach as such. It is always advisable to eat fruits before and after one hour.

I think you should eat a banana as part of a meal. I would consider it as your fruit or dessert for that meal. I eat bananas on an empty stomach all the time and I am normal weight. It has nothing to do with weight gain, but how much you eat, in total, everyday. If you eat more than your body can burn you will gain weight, it doesn't matter if you eat a banana or a piece of cake.

I do not think it makes much difference as the total calories that you consume each day and the exercise you get each day are what makes you lose or gain or stay the same. I eat a banana any time I feel like it and just do not overdo.

Dear fhoebe, It is a well known fact that fruits are digested easily than the main meal. If you take it after the meal the fruits get digested quickly and by the time it reaches the abdomen it gets fermented I believe. It is said that the fruits can be taken before meals or after an hour of having meals. If you take it before meals it will serve two purposes. One is that it gets digested soon and the other thing is that we will not feel that hungry and so our main intake will come down, just like drinking water before the meals to lessen the food intake. So try and have it before meals or later in the day. Bananas can be taken after food if they are of the small variety. All the best

Eating banana before meals can be a way of dieting as eating a banana can make you fuller than having no banana before meals. In terms of eating the banana after meals. its a dessert for us and as an added nutrition. Its rich in potassium so when one have leg cramps, we tell them to eat bananas. While it maybe true that banana can add to your weight if you eat it after meals, its because bananas are rich i carbohydrates which are the same ones that we get from other foods. I beg to disagree that banana is not good to eat when one's stomach is empty as i eat banana as a light snack when Im hungry and gives me a good full. Different people have different reaction to food. So, some may get stomach ache when they eat banana on empty stomach but some does not. Happy banana eating!
