Some people think that poems are boring and that writers are, too. I absolutely disagree simply because I don't want to be called boring. And really, I'm not. lol! There are just times when I have strong emotions, may it be happy or sad, love or anger, I quickly pick up my pen and notebook and scribble words. Some don't actually rhyme but I still consider them poems. That's where I pour my emotions. Am I mushy or what they call emotional? I really don't intend to but I just have this urge to write. Do you do the same?

I used to write poetry all the time but now that little spark kind of faded away. But sometimes i'll write a little poem once in a while. Now when something is on my mind happy or sad or that i just feel like writing i'll pick up a pen but only if i feel like expresssing it on paper.

I've been writing poetry since Middle School. I keep a book of it so I can reread everything I have written. I also enjoy doing different types of poetry from my emotions, experiences, lost loves, and children. Not all poems rhyme and that's a good thing. There are various styles and it's okay if not every poem has rhyming words. Just go with the flow. Happy Writings!

Yes I really do enjoy writing poems and songs. They are lots of fun to write, and very empowering etc.

I used to write poems when I was in elementary. I actually produce many poems back then. My father compiled them all in our house. And whenever I go home and read my masterpiece, I just smile and laugh about the innocence of the writer.

It's a passion like any other, you have it or you don't... But it is a very good thing you do when writing down your feeling when you get emotional, as you said. Because the actual (and valuable) poem is created based on true feelings and based on effective images to convey them to the reader...Of course rhyme has nothing to do with the purpose of poetry i've just mentioned. Rhyme is to provide musicality, it's a clasic feature, an aesthetic one. It doesn't relate to content, to the message too much. I was told when I first asked about why poems rhyme (when I was a child, of course) that they have the same phonetical ending to help you remember it better. It may seem superficial, but it remains a good explaination.

I love to write poetry. I also write meditations and short stories, but poetry is an emotional release for me. When I was young I had to keep everything locked up inside. My adoptive parents were really bad people and I was upset, afraid, depressed, etc., most of my childhood. I couldn't rant or scream out of fear of being beaten. Writing was my only escape. Even now, when something happens that really lifts my heart, or causes pain, I find the best way to look at it and release it is through poetry. It isn't just emotional sweetie. It's creative. It shows people your heart, your hopes, and your ideals. Keep writing.

The people in my school think that writing is cool; so, if you're a writer or you write really good literary stuffs, then, you'll be in the hall of fame. Probably, they'll give you high respect and ask for your help with their grammar or spelling. It's quite a pride to be a writer. I do write poems. They are my "stress relievers", apart from reading and playing Online Games. I can pour out anything I want and people would value it and "price it" as priceless. Anyway, I am learning through experiences and the best way to record them is through creative writing. Enjoy writing and happy MyLot-ing! :)
