I am fed up of seeing new discussions about the same old things in this topic... People asking what is the best way to make money over and over... If you read the Guidelines for mylot, you will see that they say you should "search for existing topics before starting a new discussion" In the past 3 days I have seen so many discussions titled "The best ways to earn money online" that I am thoroughly fed up of it... Please just take the time view at least 3 pages under the interest that you want to post in. If you still don't see it, well then by all means start the topic but please check first. What do you guys think? Is it just me who is fed up of this or are you all feeling the same way? Thanks.

I totally agree with you Tehgamer. I just don't see that anything will change though. With new users everyday to mylot they usually don't know how things work around here quite yet so they won't check if the topic has started yet. We'll just have to put up with it I guess and overlook it:)

Yea I guess... Is there any way to get mylot staf to notice this problem and possibly have them delete repetitive discussions? Just the ones that overdo it... I saw yesterday 2 discussions about the same thing on the same page... Apparently they couldn't be bothered to scroll down... I'm giving all of you guys a + for your informative answers! =)

Well thank you, I appreciate it, I also give you a + for your discussion:) I'm sure mylot notices this because alot of other discussions get deleted and if they are that repetitive than I'm sure they will eventually delete them.

I am new to this site as of 2 days ago. I can see how this can be very annoying though. I have yet to start a discussion, but I will make sure I search to see if someone has already started a discussion regarding the topic I would like to talk about. This was very helpful to me, being that I am new. Thanks for starting this discussion!

Yes, that's the ideal way how it should work, but it requires alot of moderation to be succesful. Maybe people would start acting correctly if they would get banned for 2-7 days if they post repetitive discussions (or break other rules). The problem is probably lack of moderators, as this size of community would require alot more resources to be fully managed. We can of course do our share and not respond to those topics. ;)

True... maybe the mylot staff can even make some good posting, rule following members be moderators with limited powers. The mods can probably submit articles to mylot staff for repetitiveness or any type of rule breaking... Just a thought lol

I do that search first before starting a discussion routine. It saves me more time on finding an already present topic than to initiate it myself. About those posts that are repetitive which you mentioned on "Earning more... yadah yadah and more yadah.." I too get annoyed at some point but, its there and I simply just have to go over them or find myself specific discussions

New users probably are not aware of the search bar at the top of the page where they can search for discussions pertaining to what they want to know. I wasn't aware of it when I first joined but now I use it regularly. I think also that the majority do not read the guidelines either and most do not read the TOS on any sites at all. I agree it gets monotonous reading the same questions and in order to reply we have to repeat ourselves which as you say is not allowed. But how do we get new people to read the guidelines? Maybe they should be pointd there when they register? When I come on I read back in this section to the last discussion I saw when I was on before as you suggest. Maybe other users will reply and we also will learn new things about moneymaking online if these discussions still persist but you do have a good point.

Wow... lol I never thought about using the search bar... That was pretty dumb of me! Read my reply to the person above. Do you know of any way to get mylot to notice this?

Ok so I am going to try and be really honest here (although I am holding my breath while I type... wondering if I should really post my thougts or not). I totally ignore and skip over new topics that are about the same thing that I JUST saw. My opinion is that people are too lazy to actually research the information and just want to have it handed to them. So they start a new topic (just for me) so they can get the answers they want. I also believe that most people originally came to mylot for money. I believe that alot of people post new discussions to get credit for them. On the subject of pay, if you think about it, mylot isn't really top pay. I believe the people who post and stick around actually end up doing it for the community not the pay. So people who are here for the pay are not going to take their time reading discussions to get their answers because they don't get paid for that and again are too lazy to use up their precious time. I have found that if I see several topics on the same discussion I will join in on the one that has the most posts/discussions or whatever you call it. I didn't set out to do it that way intentionally so I guess it is something instinctive in me. I would rather be a participant in a discussion than read a one comment post here and there. OK SO I stopped holding my breath a long time ago. Great discussion. You brought up something that was on alot of our minds.

lol thanks for that last comment you made. Yes I agree with you fully in that the people who try to make money here usually stay for the friends and fun discussions that they find. These newbies usuallystart the new discussions trying to make money. These type of people either see what they are doing wrong and change their ways, or they just stop posting here because they find they are taking too long to earn money. Thanks for the feedbacK!

Hua ,I guess some people are just lazy, they don't search the existing topics beforing starting a new disgusstion.I guess I am one of those people. I am not annoyed by the same old topics,if I saw the some old topics again,I just ignore it.

I don't pay much attention to this topic most of the time. I usually just go into discussion from my interests and the different topics are interspersed so I don't see a bunch of them together. I do see some that are the same topic, but usually they are far enough apart that it doesn't bother me. I do agree with you that people should look before starting a new discussion, but I never knew that could be done. I have only started a couple of discussions, but that was mostly the fact that I have only been on here for a week and I don't know where to find anything. Thaks for bringing this up.
