I can't believe this is happening. Well, I can, but I'm still very angry about it. California is in a budget crisis. So what do they do? Cut money from education of course! Our dear governor says that it was either that or raise taxes yet again. Gee, good idea. We already have so many overcrowded schools, firing tons of teachers will really help our deteriorating classrooms. Good move Arnold. Basically, districts across the state are having to lay off teachers. The California Teachers Association says that over 5,000 teachers statewide have already received their pink slips. We already have 30 or more kids per classroom, at this rate their will be 50 kids or more per classroom here in Los Angeles. And in this article, they explain that if something isn't done, it could be over 10,000 teachers that could lose their jobs. This is outrageous. Whatever happened to the children are the future? Apparently now they are disposable. http://www.dailybreeze.com/ci_8498770 What do you think?

Unbelievable. I work in the education field and I can't imagine this helping. Here in Baltimore, Maryland (city schools - not the surrounding counties) they are cutting positions in education but it has headquarters. That's where LA should probably trim the fat also. I'm sure there is lots of middle management that could probably go and would not be missed.

Yep, it is pretty mind blowing. To be honest, I can't see it happening or helping! :O) I really do not know what is in the heads of these government officials.
