under your bed? Under the bed is an ideal space to find extra storage room. some people keep shoes or slippers under the bed - or sweater boxes with last seasons duds in them. perhaps a piece of exercise equipment that is out of sight out of mind? Or maybe the only thing you keep under there are your dust bunnies? what do you store under your bed?

That is exactly what I keep under my bed...my dust bunnies...LOL...They seem happy there so I don't want to crowd their space...*smiles*

It is set so close to the floor. You can probably fit a few books underneath but that's about it. Not sure why it was set that way either but its just how it came when we bought it. The matress is so thick though and the bed still sits pretty high - sounds confusing doesn't it LOL sorry.

I would love to get a bed with drawers built in like that - how handy.

Some years back I was very involved in the art of fung sway (which I never spell right) and one thing they said was never 'store' things under your bed - it's a collecting place for bad stuff that will effect your sleep. Well, since then I try to keep under my bed clean but my bed has drawers built in under it so I hate giving up that great storage space. I tend to keep things like my PJs, extra blankets, one drawer is for things like lotions or oils - little things I like to pamper myself with before going to sleep. Another holds several devotional books and bible.

No superstition or anything that I know of - it's basically the Chinese art of arrangement. Very involved with the use of color, different elements, and positioning of everything. I only got involved because I'd seen it mentioned on a TV show some years ago so picked up a book on it. I don't remember a fraction of the stuff but still have the book packed away someplace. I do think it helps though.

hello faith! how nice to have drawers which actually lend to keeping it organized under the bed! how did you get involved with the fung sway stuff? is it a form of superstitious belief? I am not very educated in the matter, may be a discussion idea for you?

LOl Well I am kind of loathe to admit this but there is so much shoved under my bed I have forgotten what is there! With me sleeping in the living room due to my back problems there are all sorts of things that I 'really' need under there and of course I cannot bend down to get under so things just multiply! I think I will get my son to help clear it out this afternoon whilst my daughter is out! xxxx

YAY!!! I am not alone.... I also sleep in the living room - sitting up, because of my back (and breathing) hehe... I do not really know what is shoved under my bed though - as I have not ventured into the bedroom in some time now.

I don't know how I missed your reply here Modestah! when I wrote this I slept on a sofa bed propped up and that was where everything was - I now have a special recliner/riser armchair which has made a HUGE difference. Sorry to hear you need to do the same but at least we get peace to mylot at night right? lol hope you are well at the moment. Thanks for the Best Response Hugs xxx

I like to store my kids toys under the bed in rollaway storage containers. Here's an article on how to do it. http://www/ehow.com/how_4551180_extra-storage-space.html

For the first time in my entire life, I can honestly say I keep nothing under my bed. Of course there was a two year period in my teens where I had a bed that nothing would actually fit under. But now I have a lot of room, but nothing is there. I guess I'm saving space for the boogeyman.

whooops! I hear he likes to hang out under beds.... I got to tell lordwarwizard about that - he does not like to sleep over anything - but having all sorts of junk under the bed is a security device - boogy men can not fit under bed that has bunches of junk under it already!

There's absolutely no dust bunnies under my bed. I know this for a fact because there's no room left under there for dust to collect.hehehehe. I have storage containers I keep my hobby stuff in. I have been selling my stuff off as I'm not well enough to do the doll reborning hobby, so soon I will have extra space.

grandma! you are so funny! that is what I was thinking when I answered ambiepams response - if you keep things under the bed - there is no room for the undesireables (ie dust bunnies and boogy men) I do hope you get to feeling better, my friend.

Thankfully I have managed to avoid putting things under my bed. I just don't like the idea of having something underneath me when I sleep...

I store seasonal clothes under the bed. So right now my shorts and short sleeved shirts are ready to be taken out and washed as soon as the warmer weather hits....then it's the sweatshirts and sweatsuits that go under to replace what I just took out!

It is nice to find that extra and out of the way storage area for such things that do not have to be accessed frequently.

I have very little storage space in my apartment and a LOT of stuff since I sell on ebay and other auction sites. I keep all of my USPS boxes under my bed and a couple of large canvas bags that I use if I go to my daughters overnight.

When i read this a long time back I stopped keeping anything under my bed...lately I found that bed boxes are very handy to keep blankets and other linen...I am contemplating to get the boxes fixed up as they are very convenient for keeping blankets, comforters or other linen..

that is a good idea - maybe having little wheels (casters) on the bottom of the boxes would be helpful in making them easier to access.

I don't know what we would do in our home if it weren't for under bed storage. We live in an older home and the closet space is just not adequate. Under each of the beds in the house are 2 or 3 rolling storage containers. These containers store out-of-season items such as cordoroy pants, sweaters, gloves etc. Under my bed is another storage container that houses off-season shoes. Now sadly, whenever we roll out the containers, dust bunnies the size of Buicks come out with the containers!

I don't keep anything under my bed. I have a waterbed, yes, can you believe it? Actually its my boyfriends and I hate the thing, but to answer your question it sits on the floor and is impossible to put anything underneath. I can remember years ago another boyfriend of mine had one and I owned a newt which escaped. It found its way under the waterbed mattress and was one dried out newt by the time we discovered it.

Before I used to put a lot of thing under my bed. But now that i have renovated my room, its a lot bigger now, so I was able to place extra cabinets for storage. Most of the items are now on the cabinet and as of the moment the space under the bed is still waiting for any item that maybe later on I will place.

I am such a neat freak that i would really like the underside of my bed to have absolutely nothing under it but it is not possible when you live in such a small apt. However, i do keep storage boxes with my christmas things down there and other storage boxrs with stuff in them.

the only thing i keep under my bes are the leaves to my table. wouldn't keep them there but feel they need to be lying down on a flat surface instead of propped up in a closet. i really don't like storing things under a bed.
