I don't know anything to do for hereditary hair loss but my hair has stopped thinning and falling out when I switched shampoos last year to an all natural one with no sodium lauryl sulfate. That's an engine degreaser they use in shampoo to strip off the oils so it's squeaky clean. Trouble is, it also damages the follicles! After reading this I got some natural shampoo at the health food store and my hair is thicker now than it was a year ago and doesn't break and split. Try this for awhile. The shampoo cost a fraction more than the commercial stuff but you won't end up thin-haired with your scalp showing through, or bald! My mom is 83 and she'd lost a huge patch of hair. She started using my shampoo and now some of the hair is growing back!

Right now I'm using Nature's Gate but I really like Avalon. Avalon has less intrusive scents--I prefer scentless products but I guess I'm in the minority! HiHealth or General Nutrition Center both carry shampoos like this. It's not a quick fix, but your hair and scalp will be healthier and you'll keep what you've already got. And you may even get new growth, like my mom. Look at your meds, too. Mom is taking a couple that aggravate hair loss so maybe you can take an alternative--she won't, you know old ones do what their doctors say no matter what.

hello, vivi!hair loss is a common problem with almost every body.it is due to some extent gene effect and we can protect our hair by proper diet and proper maintenance.keep the hair clean atleast every week with a good shampoo and massage oil.almond oil is a perfect tonic for our hair.after shampoo rinse the hair with a neat towel and massage almond oil in to the scalp.it will prevent dandruff and keep the hair managible and prevent falling.try this and i hope you will be benefited within a month.thank you.
