Having bad breath is disgusting and usually others tend to avoid talking to someone having bad breath. So, can you tell me a way to prevent bad breath?

Hi there... Do whats been said in all these other posts, if nothing works, go see your dentist, maybe visit the doctor to see if your sick inside, might need a detox... What ever it is, good luck in preventing bad breath...

I was told not to take those foods with pungent smell like garlic, onions etc. Brush the teeth after eating. Other than the 3 regular meals a person suffered with bad breath should not take other foods like snacks or confectionaries anymore. He is also advised to gargle the mouth and throat using the antiseptic mouth wash. It is believed that by doing this could kill germs that cause bad breath.

I brush in the morning and night for at least 3 minutes. I also brush my tounge to get rid of the build up. I floss and use mouthwash a number of times a day. Chewing strong mint gum does help too.

Hello Enchantedleppard. As I recalled, I never brush my teeth for more than 3 minutes. Could that be the reason? I always carry with me strong mint chew gum or sweet in order to prevent bad breath. Thanks for youe suggestion.

Hello MelissaSx. That is what I am doing and yet my breath smell bad. I brush after every meal and sometime i even use floss to clean up my teeth. Is it because of my techniques of brushing up my teeth? Thanks for your suggestion.

I think it is worth pointing out that bad breath may be because of poor dental health. It is best to consult your dentist for that. Otherwise if you brush AND floss everyday, then you shouldn't have bad breath unless you are sick or you ate too much heaty food.

Keep your mouth clean. Brush after every meal and when you are brushing your teeth you should brush your tongue as well. Finishing off your brushing with a quick rinse of mouthwash helps too. Don't forget to floss too.

Hello Lilybug. I do brush my teeth after every meal but i don't normally brush my tongue. Perhaps that is why my breath smell especially the next morning. I seldom floss my teeth though sometime I do buy a packet of floss. Thank you for your response.

Hello ersmommy1. To be frank, I don't like to see a dentist. I do brush my teeth after every meal and I do floss in between my teeth but all the time. Yes, before going to bed I do gaggle listerine in order to kill the germ. What else do I miss? Perhaps I should see a dentist afterall. Thanks for the sharing.

Make sure that you brush your teeth properly, specially in the back. The back part of your teeth tends to get ignored sometimes as it's harder to reach. During the time I went to the dentist, I was surprise to see a good amount of food still stuck on my back teeth. Also you should also start brushing your tongue, my dentist told me it's one of the reasons of having bad breath. Don't also forget to use mouthwash, I believe it's essential. Well... that's what my dentist said anyway.
