Heather Mills and Paul McCartney Divorce Settlement

United States

As you all know, Heather Mills and Paul McCartney divorced. He was ordered to give her nearly 50 Million dollars. I realize that he is worth over 1 billion dollars. However, I still think that it is ludicrous that he had to give her that much money. What do you think?

Totally agree - don't think she helped him get any of his fortune so any settlement should have been put in a trust fund for his daughter

i have no idea, he has lots of money but should she get it all she didn't make it he did, so I don't think he should be taken to the cleaners over it either.

I heard the announcement on the news on the way home and was suprised at Heather's reaction. I don't know if Paul's lawyers were able to hide some of his financial wealth or what. He may be worth more, but I would imagine it's based on things he did, mainly residuals from music he wrote and performed BEFORE they were married and shouldn't count. 48 million for 4 years of marriage doesn't sound like a bad deal. She even stated their daughter would have fly coach with the $70,000 annual child support he's required to pay while he flies first class. C'mon now. I try not to call people names, but Kanye West had a duet with Jamie Fox about folks like her. Cheers, Ed

Way too big a settlement. How many years were they actually married - four? I read earlier that she was going to ask for $100 million in exchange for not doing the tell-all on the marriage and divorce. So is the 50 mill just the beginning and the book deal comes next? We sure do pay our celebrities well. whit
