The Vicar of St George-in-the-East church in Shadwell, Canon Michael Ainsworth, 57 was savagely attracted by some cowardly Muslim youths, shouting the church should be a Mosque. These cowards ran off when some other people came to his aid but not before injuring him enough to require hospital treatment. What action should UK government take in response to this evil act? all the best urban

yeah, i condemn this silly action. What should UK gov do? As civilized country, use the civil law and action to penalize those criminals.

Unfortunately, it is hard to apprehend those responsible, hiding with a Muslim community that appears to condone their actions. And cries oppression and discrimination if any Muslim is arrested, even in such clear cut cases as this. That teach their children that the Quran commands them to take what they like from non-Islamic countries, which leads to gangs of Muslim youths armed with knives roaming the streets attacking non-Muslims and robbing them before disappearing back into the security of their community. all the best urban

Here in the states, at least in the South we have a problem with young adults who hate Jews or at least profess to, who impersonate Muslims and attack Jews. We know that it is not the Muslim community at all but these little creeps that are too cowardly to even stand up for what they profess to believe, but hide behind someone elses "beliefs". The Muslims often come to our aid when we are vadilized etc. and we do the same when they have problems. The "Law" will not do anything about it. They say it is our fault for being different and that we just need to get better security. So, on important holidays we have to higher off duty police officers to guard us while we have services and we have put up huge fences around our schools to protect the children. All doors must remain locked all day so that you must use buzzers to be admitted to the various Temples.

Start sending back the illegal ones and stop taking in new asylum cases. Simple as that really. Don't you have hate crime laws in UK? If so then the government needs to start holding muslims accountable for it and stop the over sensitivity to them.... If there are no hate crime laws then they should make and enforce some. It is bad that they can go to a country and p1ss on their lawn and not get in any real trouble. Just goes to further prove their reason for being in the West anyway. Domination.

The government needs to start acting strategically to combat this kind of thing in a broader context. They need to investigate these people - how did they come to be in the UK? Are they first generation immigrants, second generation? Are they living on welfare, ie on the (largely Christian) UK people's taxes? They need to be charged with hate crimes and receive very stiff sentences. The hate crime legislation needs to be updated also so reflect the facts that racism is not just white Christian oppression of people not fitting into this category. And no pathetic excuses that these are just young boys should mitigate sentencing either. The fact is that bigoted Muslims are now feeling confident enough to carry out such acts and fair minded people need to start worrying and pressuring their MP's to act. I don't agree with what they last person said and stopping asylum claims. The fact is that a (small) minority of asylum cases are genuine. What about the Christians being persecuted in Iraq? I read that a baby was kidnapped from its mother and when the Christian family didn't pay the ranson as they hadn't got the money, the baby was killed in the most horrific manner. People like that deserve and need asylum. Obviously you will get lots of liars and even fanatical Al Quaeda types trying to use the asylum system to access Europe...but as a just nation you cannot desert the few because of the sins of everyone else. Basically, lets forget about political correctness and embrace common sense. If people such as the youth you mentioned reckon its time for the church to be turned into a mosque and beat an older man to try prove their point, perhaps they need to be sent back to their country of origin if at all legally possible. After all, if I were to do something like that in Pakistan/Iran/Saudi...I don't think they would bother paying my plane ticket home, lets be honest here. Its time to wise up everyone.

I am afraid that is just one effect of freedom of religion. I know that some of those muslim youth's were brainwashed by those factions that have connections to terrorism. If I remember correctly, I have seem something of how those youth's were conditioned in one of discovery channel episodes. It is indeed sad that those youths are so misguided , well, from my point of view because they also think that we are the misguided one and the evil one. I think that what the government can to is to strengthen its system in monitoring their movements. I know that a lot of them may feel that they being wrongly treated or that they have all the eyes of the government focused on them but until the government do away with all those terrorist, the government cannot do less than that.
