March's Winter Storm

Well here in Minnesota the weather get's down right nasty in March. Tonight is typical of that. We are under a winter weather advisory as well as a snow warning. On my way to pick my wife up from work tonight it was snowing heavily, raining, sleeting, and very foggy all at one time. The roads are wet, slushy, and slippery as hell. I hated the drive due to the morons that are driving 75 in a 55 zone not worried about others well being on the roads. Now we are expecting a few more inches of wet heavy snow overnight then the temps will be in the low 40's to melt it all. That's the one good thing about Minnesota March Snowstorms, they do melt fairly fast due to the temps. So are you experiencing any type of storms today or tomorrow?

The weather in Indiana is very weird this year. We are supposed to get up in the 70's this week and next week we have a chance for snow again. We are almost into spring here and we should be having flowers blooming but it is very starnge with the way the weather is this time.

Just last week we had a stretch of a few days in the 50's melting everything on the ground. Now the nasty March Storms come rolling in.
My flowers don't bloom here in Minnesota till mid May usually.

I was walking in my yard this past weekend and noticed a few lilies peeking up out of the thick layer of mulch I raked into the flower beds last fall. Was surprised to see them peeking so soon.

Hello Grandpa!
Its reading posts like yours that makes me glad I live in Miami. I cannot fathom how you handle that kind of weather for months at a time! I guess its just a matter of getting used to it, but I don't think I could. I'm cold when the temps get in the 50's so I can't see myself in a snowstorm. You must be one great driver to get through that! Stay warm!

It's not all that bad seeing I've lived here for over 33 years. So I am accustomed to it and can handle it easily. I lived in Jupiter Fla. for one winter and when Christmas came and it was warm and green I went nuts. Couldn't handle a warm green Christmas.

1+1=6, I lost an internet friend to Katrina in LA. A shame and I could not live where they are around nor an earthquakew prone area is off limits for me as well. I value my life and property. But then again I did have a tornado hit right next to my house a few years ago. But a tornado is hit and miss as opposed to a hurricane hitting a WIDE area at once.

Hi Bob... Being from Wisconsin we got that same storm.. It looks very beautiful outside but really I was hoping for warmer weather and sunny skies today.. How ever I just went to look at the temps and it's 30 outside so I don't think this will be staying much longer on the ground.. I am so ready for spring though, even though we really haven't gotten much snow this year..

That looks really neat, I too went and took a picture but had to point the camera upwards cause all the tree's here are pretty high up and this was taken right from my porch... However all the snow is starting to fall from the tree limbs..

Right now at noon it is 42 degrees and this photo is the result and remains of the 3 inches we got over night. I knew it would melt quickly.

Yeah it is beautiful as well here. Here's a photo I took about 2 hours ago of the neighbors trees. They look so cool with the snow and ice on the bare branches. It's going to be in the low to mid 40's here so it will melt by tomorrow evening. I am not going out to clear the drive as it's only a couple inches and all slushy and heavy as hell.

It was snowing in Chicago today. Rain tomorrow and snow on Thursday. I don't want to know what will happen on Friday.

Its very windy and warm here today (upper 70's). It is cloudy and suppose to be cooler tomorrow so we will probably be having thunderstorms tonight. It is tornado weather around here. Although 10 days ago we had the biggest snow we've had in as long as I can remember...5 inches. It was beautiful but melted too quick for me.

The 70's are a copuple monyhs or less away for me. But I am ready for my gardening to start. Got to get some plants started indoors real soon too. We haven't had a 5 inch storm for awhile here.

We had storms Sunday night and last night. Last nights was pretty loud. Thunder, lightning, rain, and it was cold. But not cold enough to bring snow, and we aren't expecting any snow. Just regular thunderstorms. It rained the whole time I was out today, and mindful of the weather I kept under the speed limit. But we have some morons around here as well. I was frequently passed, and at a great deal of speed!

Today is supposed to be warmish, but rainy. It was foggy last night. There are a few days when it will be over sixty. Sunday we had sun, snow, sleet, rain, and fog. All in small portions. I do not like idiot drivers either.

The fog has lifted, the snow changed into a light rain and the
temp is right at freezing. Things are going to be better in a
few hours actually. Supposed to be in the mid 40's so it will melt quickly. (I hope)

We had high winds yesterday that pushed the temperature down to the upper 40's. The pollen is being blown all over the place coating the cars and making me sneeze. And the poor guys had to wear coats when they were playing golf yesterday! We're sure suffering here.

Hello dear Grandpa Bob. I am sorry for the nasty weather in your area, but we are now having nice weather here in Zhejiang. The temperature is around 18 to 20 degrees during the day. The lowest temperature is around 5 to 6 degree. It is very nice weather we are having though it is cloudy these two days. Stay warm, Grandpa Bob.

Ahhh, don't be sorry. I like the wintertime and snow etc. I just hate the way some people drive in it is all. Well of course I also hate when it is slushy like this. It's a hard task clearing it from my driveway as the snowblower clogs up from it and it weighs a lot using a shovel. Oh well. Thanks, you also.

So far so good here in Boston...keeping my fingers crossed! They have been talking about snow but doesn't the saying for the month of March go "in like a lion out like a lamb"? or is it the other way around? I always forget!

Well, I am here in the Philippines. Definitely there is no snow in our country. The thing is, summer is coming already and the temperature is getting hotter by the day. Though there are occasional rains, but in most cases, its very warm. If I am not mistaken, the temperature may reach up to 30 to 32 degrees centigrade during noon time. Well, do take care out there. Drive safely.

I would love to visit the Philippines some day. I have friends here
in the States that are from Cagayan de Oro City. They've been in the states for over 25 years now and miss it greatly.

I am nervous driving in heavy rain or hail, let alone snow, sleet & the whole lot. And yes, there are a lot of morons out there. It sounds very dangerous & scary.

We are supposed to be having bad weather tomorrow and the following day here in Houston, TX. Today it was so windy that I was afraid it will knock the tress down. Hoping that we will have good weather though. My toddler is so excited for the Easter egg hunt and hoping that it will be sunny and nice.

Hi Grandpa Bob,
We've just returned from a week at my sister's for March Break. The weather was really great while we were there, although there were piles of snow everywhere.
We're supposed to have some type of bad weather coming in today here, but I'm not sure what form it's going to take, or how bad it'll be. I am hoping that we've seen the end of these horrific snowstorms. I hope the same for you too. Take care.

The only storms I'm expecting are thunderstorms with lots of rain. It's in the low 40's now. Think winter might be over for us down here finally.

Just above freezing here right now and it's raining a little bit. The highways are backed up all over due to many accidents as well. Glad I sit home all day.

Thank God NO!! lol Sorry grandpa but I hate snow. It's wet and cold, now if it were one or the other, I could learn to like it or appreciate it but because it's both, no way. Aside from that, March is so unpredictable when it comes to the weather. One never knows what it'll bring from one day to the next. As for the drivers, they must think they're invincible or something to drive like that! Makes me wonder if they have their heads buried in the sand in Florida somewhere. Gee, what morons is right!

I ove the snow actually as you know. But when it is mixed with freezing rain and sleet it makes it WAY too heavy to shovel and the snowblower clogs up too much to do a good job.
