Do you use a laptop or a desktop, or both?

If you have more than one computer, which do you like best?

I use a laptop. It's just really convenient. If I'm at home, I can just sit in bed and do my work.

No doubt about the convenience! I'll open mine up on the coffee table, because the kids are usually on the desktop.

I only have a desktop. its all i've ever had. I used to want a laptop but i've never gotten one. I think its because i figured i'd just sit at my desk with it anyways, so i may as well stay with a desktop.

I only have one pc right now. but i really would like to get one of those eee pc's. They are little itty bitty net surfing laptops. they are fairly cheap, and inexpensive, so we will see how long it will take me to save up for one. or if something else will come up and i'll need to put money elsewhere instead of getting the darn thing. lol. we'll see.

Yep. I love the portability of the laptop. Easier to tweak the desktop, though. Although my better half is not real fond of my tweaking.

I have a laptop and a desktop PC. My desktop PC is in my room while I use the laptop when I'm travelling overseas for business. Both have their advantages really....The laptop is more portable for me since I can carry it with me and I don't really need high hardware specifications..I use it for surfing the web, checking emails and do some video conferencing and maybe watch some movies that's all. The desktop PC I use it for gaming some times, and it has larger capacity hard disks for me to store my data and movies as well...And I can upgrade my desktop PC easily if I want to

It's sad, but my desktop, which runs faster, is way too light on RAM for games, so I end up gaming on my laptop, which is my work computer and, technically, is not supposed to be used for gaming on any other "non-company issued software". D'oh!

i have two laptops one old, six years old actually and the other about 6 months old. I prefer laptops to desktops simply because they are portable and i move around quite a lot. i use desktop at uni, they are just as good.

I have both laptop and desktop, both of which I use regularly. I have no real preference because I tend to use them for different purposes. If I am surfing the internet or editing photographs then I use the desktop, whereas I use the laptop to record television or play DVDs etcetera.

I've only got and have only ever owned a desktop... I think I would like a laptop but I am kind of afraid to get one. they are more expensive and they seem to break down an awful lot for the users - or is it only the one's my friends have owned?

I use both. Whenever I go for some field work, I bring along my laptop. I sometimes use the desktop at home when I'm downloading some important files and making some office-home work. I only use my laptop whenever I open sites that has password. I find my laptop more convenient. I have a hard headache when I use the desktop for a longer time.

I have a laptop of myself and use a desktop in the lab. I am a student majoring in mechanical engineering. I think the laptop is convenient to do some simple things such as going to the internet, writing some documents, etc. But when I do something with the CAD and CAE softwares, I have to use the desktop. Because it has a higher performance and runs faster. So they are both useful and it will depend.

I have both, but I am primarily a desktop user. I bought an older laptop to do research at the library and stay connected to my email when I went on vacation. It also let me take my music about the house. Now that I have a big ipod, about the only time I use it is when I need to be away from my desk. I also take it with me to my once a month golden corral breakfast visit. I found I could pick up the wi-fi signal from half a dozen places there. I sit have all I can eat custom made omelets and all the coffee I can drink while surfing away from everyone else.
