I really do not watch tv like i used to. I believe that I can live without a tv. I like the internet more than the Television. That is my point of view. Television barely has anything on it that is very productive you know.

I like to have the TV on just for company. But, if I didn't have a TV, I would listen to the TV shows on my radio or watch them online. I would also listen to the radio a lot more.

Wow I see that most of you watch tv, and can not live without it. Then i see that many of you guys do not really need tv to complete your life. But I understand what you guys mean.

I would be totally and absolutely miserable . I enjoy so many programs, news, talk shows, my 2 soaps (one of which I have been watching for 30 years), then a couple of the reality shows amuse me. I also appreciate the weather (tornados, etc) warning which cut in and let me know of impending danger!

I feel the same. I don't watch that much TV. We watch DVDs pretty often and I'm on the internet a lot. I could live without TV but I'm not sure what I'd do if I had no internet ;)

I believe if I had no TV. My life would not be over, but I would be ok. I really do not watch that much television. To me television is kind of overated. The only thing I may watch is a good movie or maybe even a nice sports game. But that is basically about it.

I've noticed lately that I've been watching more and more reality type shows so that when something decent comes like a good thriller, I can hardly keep up with the plot anymore, my brain has become so fried. I have lots of hobbies and spend more time on the internet sometimes than watching the tv. I could live without it but enjoy the company of the noise in the background - especially if my kids are not around.

Couch potato. - Look at what the TV has done to a man.
My earnest wish is to not to have a TV.That has killed many good habits and made people zombies with square eye balls. This is what we have become.

I have a more positive view of television. To me, there are some very good, quality shows on. As far as being productive, I don't know. I don't usually think about if something is productive when I pick an activity for my leisure time. I think about whether it gives me pleasure. So, I wouldn't want to be without tv. However, if I had to, I'd do more of the other things I do - read and spend time online.

I could probably live with out television with no problems. I too like the internet. I however, do not make any on thing my whole life. I found out when the writers went on strike that I have a lot of other things to do other than watch repeats. I have also found that television shows are only new for about four months out of the year any way. I buy my favorit shows on dvd so that I can watch what I want when I want. I watch movies as well as television series. I also found a site online that lets me watch old television shows as well. I also have tons of sites that pay me money to work on so that takes up my time as well. Then there is the time with my family. You see we like to play board games together and actually have quality time. There are tons of things to do. I personally own over three thousand movies and television series on dvd so I do not have to watch repeats or news if I do not want to. I also love to cook and you can not cook and watch television. Television is not the whole world. No one should make it that way. You should be able to balance your television time with your exercise time as well. I definately can live with out television.

That's OK. After all, today I don't often watch TV. I am addicted to computer. If I don't use my computer, then usually I will play with my child. And I will have a family time.

I hardly ever watch tv. I could probably live without it as well. All they show is the same thing over and over again. The news hardly shows you anything where people help other people its always so and so killed this person or news on wars or something depressing. I normally get on the pc more than anything, when I get a chance that is. At least on the internet you can read about what you want or watch videos on things you like.

I watch too much of it. But, I usually am doing something productive while I am watching. There are a few shows that I have to set aside everything to keep my eyes on it so I don't miss something. Lost, Ghost Hunters, Supernatural, Big Brother, etc...those are some of the shows where I have to set aside anything distracting to make sure I don't miss anything. But, most of the other shows I watch are fine for just listening to. I could live without my tv. I did it in college and, when the hubby and I moved to our house, the neighborhood was still being built so, we didn't have cable yet for about 3 months. I just read a lot and watched what I could on broadcast TV. Plus, I Tivo everything so, I am not set to a schedule. If I am enjoying a good book, I know I can check out my show whenever I am ready. And, since I like to read, I would just use that as my entertainment. I have about 5 books in my bookshelf I could start on right now if I couldn't have my tv anymore. That being said, there would probably be a withdrawal period. But, with the internet, I could just read summaries and be golden.

I would have no trouble at all to go without Tv for the rest of my life. There are so many other things worth spending my time on. I mean - radio is far better than tv. Internet, spending time with friends and family, reading, I could go on and on

I think I could get by just fine without a tv, desmaster. I have several hobbies, I love to read and I enjoy music very much. I would never be bored that is for sure. I just enjoy tv for the mindlessness of it..... a chance to just sit and be entertained without having to think too much.

I'd be online mostly and I agree TV is only interesting if something good is on. Most of the time nothing good is on. The internet is fun because you can find a lot to do, although after some time it get's tireing, so I would read a book. Crazy but yes I still read books. If I don't I work on some Suduko puzzles, which I love to do.

You are right, tv does not have much worth viewing on, and I could live without it, but I would rather not! A lot of the time I just have it on for background noise or to keep my kids quiet for an hour. Without it the kids would just fall out and fight even more than they do and I would just be driven mad.

I agree with ou on this one. Tv seems to show the same rubbish over n over gain on the web you are allways finding new & exciting things to do or people to talk to.
