would you buy a bottle of Excedrin off e-bay? I seriously just saw an ad for that! One single bottle of Excedrin! At the moment it's at 99 cents with a little over a day to go...I have no idea what shipping is. Now not even taking into consideration the possible contamination risks from buying medicine from a complete stranger....doesn't it seem really silly to buy something like that from e-bay of all places! So just to make it fun...what would your situation have to be in order for you to buy one bottle of Excedrin from someone on e-bay?

Ok. If they BANNED pain medicines and the only listing was on ebay selling from Canada. And they were willing to send to the USA, even though it wasn't legal--- thats when I would buy medication off of ebay!!! GEEZ, isnt that against some kind of guidelines? Thats the craziest thing I've read today!

LOL...ok, that could be a good reason! I think there's got to be a guideline against it and it just wasn't caught...but if there isn't a guideline then there should be!

Yep, really stupid! And even if it was a buyer fom a country that doesn't sell excedrin, I can understand how they could be desperate for it, but international shipping is really costly. The flat rate is $37 regardless of weight and a three pound package costs $27. I'm sure those other countries sell an equally good product for cheaper than that!

Um, I don't think I would ever buy excedrin off of ebay! That is risky business right there! If I need to make a deal on meds, I will go to the dollar store and buy a bottle of knock off excedrin hehehe!

I love the dollar store for that kind of thing! We finally have an actual Dollar Tree (everything is $1)that is really nice as opposed to the Family Dollar where things are the same prices or more than Kmart but often less quality.

I can't believe someone would actually buy this, but with the prices of aspirin today, I can see the desperation of trying to save money, but I wouldn't, not worth the risk..

But once you figure in shipping it's not likely there is much savings if any at all...and certainly not the risk even if there is!

That is true, including the shipping, the only advantage would be the home delivery part, but still not worth the risk.

Hahaha! I can not think of any situation that would result in my buying a bottle of Excederine or any other medicine off ebay. I don't even think I could get it cheaper that way. True, 99 cents is cheaper than what you could get Excederine for in the store, but when you add in S & H costs....and also, you can buy a generic version of Excederine pretty cheap and it's the same thing, just without the fancy name and lable. Also, I can not figure out why anyone would even want to sell Excederine or anything of that nature on ebay to begin with. I don't see how anyone could possibly make a profit off something like that. lol

I was wondering about why someone would sell it too! I mean were they just sitting in their bathroom one day thinking...hmmm wonder if I can sell the contents of my medicine cabinet?... And you gotta figure someone is getting a bad deal either way...the buyer will probably pay more just for shipping than the bottle is even worth, and that's just if he/she doesn't end up with a bad case of poisoning. The seller had to pay full price for the bottle, gas to go get it, and ebay listing fees, it's doubtful those costs will get covered.

I guess if every store was out of it and that was the last bottle, I may consider it but even then, it's not likely. Who knows what's in that thing. How do we even know it's really excedrin? However, some people do just put stuff like that up for auction just for kicks. Still, you can never be sure...

Nope, that's right, you never can tell what's really in that bottle.

That is weird. Why would someone sell Excedrin on E-bay? I don't think there is a situation that I would buy that off of e-bay, for the simple fact of I would have to be currently suffering from a migraine to want to buy it, and I don't want to wait 3 or more days to get rid of it. Especially since my migraines are the type that if I don't take something when it starts, nothing will help. But I am like you, I wouldn't trust buying meds over the internet, especially if its from another person and not from a reputable company.

Yes, that is crazy. I can not think of a situation that would make me want to or need to buy excedrin from someone on ebay. That is absolutely insane! Some people are too trusting. I mean I don't doubt everyone, but when it comes to something like that, you never know what that person could really be selling you. Some people think, well if it is sealed, it will be okay, well people, there are people in this world that know how to seal a bottle to make it look new. How do you think it got sealed in the first place..someone had something to do with it. Wow I am going to have to look on ebay for crazy things like that to see what other items people are brave enough to purchase. Thanks for sharing this story with us. ~Nelly~

I thought it seemed pretty crazy too! And you are so right about people knowing how to reseal a bottle so it looks new. Some people are just way too trusting.

I haven't ever bought anything off of ebay, but if I did, it surely wouldn't be a bottle of excedrin. Come on now, who in their right mind would buy a bottle of excedrin off of ebay, I know I wouldn't.

Oh foxy, you have opened up an interesting discussion, LOL. Foe me to purchase a single bottle of anything on ebay, they would have to have a sexy man that comes with it. Are these people crazy, or are the people who would actually bid on this crazy, I think the latter.

I think it's a little bit of both! But if the sexy man was there to... umm, 'ease your tension'...you wouldn't need the Excedrin anymore!

I would never buy any food, medicine or cleaning products online. You never really know where the products are comming from but at least with a store you have the comfort in knowing that what you buy is safe and relativily harmless.

You know that's something I hadn't thought of. I never have bought cleaning products but you're right...they could get tampered with too and you might not notice until it's too late.

I'm sure e-bay tries but it is a huge site. Just like here some bad stuff gets reported but a lot of other things slip through.

that is outrageous. why would anyone go for medications in ebay unless it is rarely procurred from a pharmacy ? only case possible would be to imagine a lonely person with intense headache and no one to help him out , with a waist broader than his door width or a paralysis handicapping him/her , who cannot go out to a medical store to buy excedrin could probably rely on ebay to send him the medication. an unusual situation. i think ebay wants to describe their site as complete in all respects, selling anything possible under the sky.
