Making The First Move

How do you guys find it when girls make the 1st move to confess their feelings for the guy?
Do you find this a turn off? Too direct? Cheap?
Gals, How did you find the courage to make this move and confess your feelings to the guy? How did you deal with rejection? Did you give up totally when you were unsuccessful?
Or do you prefer the subtle approach of dropping hints along the way?
For me I would rather remain coy and subtle. Look forward to hearing from all of you our there.

I have no problem with as long as it something that has been done with much thought and affection. If it is serious, then that is fine, but if it is more of a casual thing to meet and great people, then no. But then again, for me, if its a total stranger then no again.

I'm not very good at subtle. If I like someone, I tend to tell them I like them. I might flirt a bit, but if I get a chance, I will say straight out how I feel and what I want. I'm just that kind of person, I guess.
The type of guy who would think that cheap isn't the type I would be involved with, I think.

If i am a man and the girl confess me of her felling, i will never be turned off to her, maybe i'll admire her for her courage. but if i am the girl who admire a man, i think icant tell him my feelings because im am a shy type of person.

Well, believe it or not...I made the first move in the relationship I'm currently in. We have been friends for a while before that incident, I did drop hints and to me it seems he was returning them. One day I just decided to come plain out and tell him, "Hey, I like you...alot." Well his reaction was great because he confessed that he liked me but I always said "I'm not looking for a relationship at the moment." He told me he was just waiting for the right moment and was glad that I told him. He asked me to be his girlfriend afterwards and we've been hooked up happily for nearly a year!
