Is it really true that whenever you have mild pain or aches you can divert your mind's attention into other things other than the pain and soon after some time you realize that the pain is already gone?

Hi nilouette, It is true, that if you concentrate on any other important thing when you are in mild pain, the diverted attention will channelise your whole mind on that and that will make you forget your pain.I am sure you would have experienced this in your own life. For example take day to day life of ours - during the day we dont feel any mild pain of our work - but during the nights or when you getting up from our bed in the morning - we feel mild pains(lethargy) and these feeling will again fade away when we get in to our routine work. Good Luck.

Certainly thinking about something else allows your mind's focus to be diverted. That's why we try to distract little children who have scraped their knee, or why if you are just feeling mildly under the weather it is better to force yourself to go to work than sit moping in bed all day.
