What do you eat for breakfast? - Oats for breakfast?

I start taking breakfast after I read that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Bread, fruits and a cup of hot drink are what I usually eat for breakfast, occasionally buns and noodles. Recently, I read that most people took the wrong food for breakfast. Pratas, noodles, nasi lemak etc are unhealthy choices. Oatmeal is the recommended choice as it can reduce the risk of heart attack. Friends, what do you eat for breakfast? Do you eat oatmeals? Cook it plain? What do you add to your oatmeals? Many thanks for sharing :)

For a while now I have been eating a Fiber One Oats & Chocolate bar for breakfast. They are soooo delicious, plus it gives me a little chocolate fix in the morning! :) Each bar also is very nutritious so they taste great & are good for you... how many breakfast foods can satisfy both of those areas?!! They also come in oats & peanut butter flavor, as well as oats & carmel. I have tried the peanut butter and it is good but I definitely like the chocolate one the best. My husband eats them often too. I had my 13 year old son try it a few times and no complaints from him, which means a lot coming from a teenager! I have not tried the carmel one yet but want to soon as I really like carmel. Each bar has 9 grams of fiber, which equals 35% of what you should eats daily! Be careful... don't eat more than one or two a day or else!!! LoL! I highly recommend these for breakfast, a snack or even an on-the-go quick meal.

Yes, they are sweet whyaskq... but, not too sweet. I just had a cup of coffee from our new Senseo coffemaker, but I think now it is time to have my Fiber One bar! YUM! :) I was just visiting the fiber one site to see if they are giving away any free samples. They currently are not for the bars but they are for their new Fiber One Carmel Delight cereal, which I received in the mail myself about a week ago & it is very good. If you are interested, here is their site & the free sample link is at the bottom of the page on the left hand side... www.fiberone.com

Of course, I'd love to eat eggs, toast & hashbrowns EVERY morning for breakfast too! I know, you said you don't usually eat breakfast though. But, wouldn't it be great if we could eat all those yummy things for breakfast every day without gaining a pound?! LoL! That'll be the day! As I mentioned in my reply to the post, I usually eat a Fiber One chocolate & oats bar for breakfast (see post). I do, on occasion though, eat a big breakfast sometimes with my family for a special treat. I love omelets too! I like them with lots of vegetables & cheese. I don't usually order them with any meat in them anymore like I used to. As for drinking diet coke with your breakfast... I used to drink that too. I have really cut back on carbonated beverages this past year though because I discovered that they were what was upsetting my stomach so much. Doctor thought it might be dairy, but I figured it out on my own that it was the sodas! Gee... and I don't even have a medical degree! LoL! When I do have a soda, lately I have been having regular instead of diet as I have been having some medical problems this past year (undiagnosed - but, possibly MS)... I have really begun to rethink my ingestion of artificial anything, like diet drinks, etc. I don't like the extra calories in a regular soda, but since I only have one about once or twice a week now, I don't think it makes much of a difference.

I thought experts advised that we can have a heavy breakfast to start the day and light meals through the day.

that's right..breakfast is very important because while we sleep at night,we are like fasting and when we get up in the morning we're suppose to break the fast- the very reason why we call it "breakfast". I often eat rice, fried eggs, and coffee in the morning. Oatmeal is really a healthy food,I always add milk and sugar to my oatmeal. I know it sounds strange for some people but most Filipinos like it sweet just like our traditional porridge which is chocolate flavor, we call it champorado.

If I have classes, I only get to drink a glass of chocolate milk since I have to be on the road to school by 5:40 am. School is an hour away from where I live. Thank goodness it's summer already. I have either cereal or oatmeal for breakfast, and that's it. I'm pretty much full to my neck after that.

Quite often I just have a cereal, with fruit in it, a glass of orange juice and a cup of tea, but occasionally I will have a full English Breakfast, which in addition, is toast, fried/poached/scrambled egg, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes and/or baked beans. After these, you can have toast and marmalade/jam, or a piece of fruit. It's often too much for me, and I'll sometimes just add a bacon sandwich after the cereal, but not often, because that suffices. Brightest Blessings.

Usually I skip breakfast, even though I know it's supposed to be the most important meal of the day. I get a mid-morning break at work, so then I will eat a cup of oatmeal or eat a banana. Usually I eat my oatmeal plain, or I'll slice a banana or apple into it. It makes it sweet without adding too much sugar.

Truely.... morning begins with the breakfast. Its very necessary as if one does'nt have breakfast, he would be spoiling his whole day.. Like its very important to have something in stomach or else you would be having a very giddy kind of feeling till lunch. the human system cant accept to be without breakfast. Further as far as possible the breakfast should be comparatively lighter. It should not take the place of lunch. I mean lunch should not be redundant neither should breakfast be. wheat breads with light butter, tea/coffee/milk will serve a good breakfast... Nowadays, cornflakes serve the purpose too. If not possible 2 paranthas with vegetable is an ideal breakfast. Avoid too much of calories in breakfast or else you will feel drowsy and dizzy the whole day.

I am on graveyard shift so I always have rice for my breakfast. My favorite breakfast food is rice, egg, tapa or fish in the morning. When I don't have work then we have oatmeal(cooked with milk) or cereals.

I have been eating breakfast for many years. I either eat special K or oatmeal. The oatmeal I like different flavors and eat a different flavor on different mornings. I like to add applesauce to my oatmeal on the mornings I eat oatmeal. I eat the instant oatmeal which doesn't take a long time to prepare. There are some mornings I eat eggs or pancakes. But that is not very often.

Recently, I read something regarding whole grain stuffs and how they are so good and blah. And so, since about a few weeks back, I have switched to having them for breakfast. In Singapore, it is really hard to find wholegrain stuffs. I have a Banana Nut Crunch from Post (or a brand starting with post) and a Quaker Oatmeal (can't remember the exact title but it looks like little tidbits which taste pretty good drop too). I mix them up and add cow milk/soymilk.

I'm always in a hurry in the mornings, so I choose to eat jam and toast. It's really easy on my stomach unlike oatmeal. And I can carry it wrapped in a napkin and eat it on the go.

To my mind,i agree with you.Breakfast is so important for person's health.I always got up so late before.and i didn't eat any breakfast. The best meal in my day is the dinner.I knowed it was not healthy to eat more at dinner.but i prefered that before.but now i am trying to change the bad habbit.Good eating habbit is very important. If i have nothing to do at morning or sleep late late night,i will slao to get up early to finish my breakfast.' The first meal for me is important, that will effect my whole day's mood.I wlays eat rice in the morning.I know that milk or oatmeal are nutritional, and helpful to health.but i really don't like to drink them, and i also don't like the break.i want to eat something feel me full and lubricant.I will not eat the unhealthy food.but i will not force myself to eat nutritional food in theory.I eat what i like and good.

I usually have a good cereal, or toast for breakfast. I like peanut butter toast also. I sometimes eat eggs or a burrito with eggs and cheese in it. If I am in a hurry I will eat yogurt or a granola bar.
