Give me a reason why it's great to be a woman....

Being a woman, I have found lots of reasons why it's great to be one. I enjoy acting "helpless" when necessary, although I can take care of myself when push comes to shove (I'm not just another pretty face!). But seriously, I'm curious to see why women enjoy being women! I'd have to say....SHOES! I love my shoes. Ladies, let's hear your reasons!

Yup, shoes are definitely up there in the top ten reasons why it's good to be a woman, but there are sooooo many reasons, I couldn't stop at ten. We are more intuitive, empathetic, we can love with our whole soul, we can care for and tend to and nurse our loved ones selflessly, we can dress up to the nines, dance on the sidewalk, flaunt our sexuality, flirt shamelessly, fix a toilet, dig a garden, grow beautiful flowers, soothe a raging beast with the sound of our voice, and sing our babies to sleep. We can do anything we choose to do and do it with style, grace and elegance. I love being a woman. I couldn't even begin to imagine what it must be like to be a man, and don't want to, either. This is a great discussion, scorpiobabes, keep on rockin, darlin!

Oh you are definitely funny, and you're most entirely welcome, too. I believe I've found a kindred spirit.

I think the best part I like about being a woman is being able to tell a man "I told you so!". It's all to often we are the ones that get told we don't know what we are talking about or we don't know how to fix things. There are times I still play the role of the helpless damsel in distress, but that's only so I can trick him into what I really want and he knows it. *LOL* That's how I keep the passion alive. I'm not a shopaholic, I'm not a frilly girl, I'm not into being all girly. I love being me and my boyfriend loves me for that reason. I guess that's why I worked road construction for 3 years as well. There are also many other reasons why it's good to be the woman. I love being the one that my kids run to when they have a boo boo. I love being able to cook and clean. I love having my bubble baths in the evenings with soft music and lighting.

Clothes are definately a big reason why being a woman is being great! Another thing is that kids usually like Mommy kisses better than the Daddy kinds (they're not as scratchy!) LOL!

Kisses from Mommy are the BEST! - kisses from mommy don't scratch!
Girl, you got that right! Mommy kisses are always better--we can fix all those boo boos too! I agree...clothes for women are much better--even if they ARE more expensive! That must be a man who decided that, LOL!

There are plenty of reasons I could give for hating being a woman sometimes. But, I too love the shoes...if I can find some that don't kill my feet. And fashion. Ours changes a lot more than men's fashion. They have the basic stuff that may only change as far as color, or collars, buttons and sizes. But, ours change all the time. And, we don't have to put bulky wallets in pockets which way out butts down. We can carry around bright pretty purses that hold all of our must have belongings. Our hairstyles change more than men's. We get to gush at puppies and kittens while they have to pretend like they could care less about how sweet and adorable their little faces are!

I pretty much love being a girl. I'm a shopoholic and absolutly loveee playing with makeup and hair. If I would have been a guy, I would have been awfully feminine.

Awwww...you reminded me that I just cut off my hair! (waaaa!) That's true--I was never any good at doing my makeup or hair, but it was fun getting dressed up in a beautiful gown--shocks the pants off the guys! (For my cousin's wedding, other than the immediate wedding party, NO ONE recognized me ... and this was family!) Thanks for sharing!

I'm not sure what you're trying to tell me...I DO love my life! I can be anything I want to--the only thing I can't do is impregnate a woman (nor would I want to!). I can learn to fix a toilet, decorate my home, comfort a crying child or cook a meal. I'm saying I LOVE being a woman!

I guess I've never been glad or not glad to be a woman...I just am and thats that LOL HOWEVER Shoes is definately important LOL being sensual is also fun for me but other than those two things being a woman is just how it is for me LOL..Ive never been one to play the "helpless" card I have to admit...I'm just far too independant and headstrong not to mention impatient to play that card in all honesty BUT I've also been on my own since I was 13 so I HAD TO become a very independant person from a very young age and it just carried over into my adult life I guess..

I was raised by my mother to believe I could do anything; my father would always say he would take care of things! I finally got him to realize recently that he's not always going to be in my life to take care of things and that I really should know how to do some basic things. But it is fun to have that sensual side to help one act helpless!

When you are emotional to shed tears, as a woman, it can be understanding. If a man cries, others will think he is weak.

yeah i love shoes so much..pair it with a beautiful dress that will look you astonishing...lots of good things offered for women everywhere...but generally speaking what makes it great to be a woman is being a mother to your children...being a mom is the best and nothing can be more greater than that...

All I remember about giving birth: a) I went into the hospital to be induced at 6 AM--gave me breakfast but took it away while I slept (I think my ex ate it!) b) sleeping through until hard contractions started (lucky, ain't I?)--a whopping 6 1/2 hours! c) the struggle to give me some sort of shot (the epidural wouldn't take--if they had just listened to me!) and my ex nearly dropping me when I had to lean forward on the gurney to get the spinal and I was hit with a massive contraction d) trying to push the baby out when I was only 3 cm dilated (a 10+ lb. baby!?) and e) having her but then still hemorraging for 6 hours so I was the last to see her that day! I never want to do it again!

Sadly, there are men in this world who think they are the better parent (), but then refuse to take their own daughter to the doc because $2 is too much! I'm tired fighting my ex...and my poor child will end up losing precious moments with me (she already has!)

I think it's great to be a woman because we can de-fuzz our bodies, and beautify ourselves with make up dress up. I love the little things like body butter and hair styling products!!

I love your name! Guys think it's ok to have hairy shoulders, waxed chests and extra hair in their noses and ears! I love getting defuzzed (feels great but soooo expensive to upkeep!)... fortunately, the guy I'm with doesn't have any of the things I mentioned... body butter is wonderful isn't it?

Thanks fifileigh for the link; however, can you offer a reason or two why it's great to be a woman? I can't really rate your comment without it. Thanks!

I can state more than a few reasons why i love being a woman! :) Clothes, Shoes (as you have said), Hair Accesories and many other more material things. But really, There are more to being a woman than these... I love being a woman cause i have a reason for my monthly tantrums, I love being a woman cause i can act like a child and pretend to be upset to my lover so he will pamper me more and be more sweet to me, I love being a woman cause i love the way how women can walk on the street with people (most especially guys) would look at you for being so wonderful.... I love being a woman cause i know women can multi-task.... I love being a woman cause we mature faster than men, I love being a woman cause we get marriage proposals and guys would do anything to get your attention! :P Well... I just love being a woman and if i would choose to be born again, I'd choose to be a woman again. :)

I love being a woman because it means I am able to create new life. I also love the fact that it is okay for me to cry at a sad movie, if I was a man crying would be off limits. While I don't often admit it I can relate to acting helpless at times. The power women can have over men at times is fantastic!

Yes, I always cry at sad movies (books, etc) and then I can brush it off, plus get comforted at the same time! Gotta love the power we have!

PMS and pregnancy pain aside it is a plus being a woman. Nothing beats being pampered and feeling extra special. There is also the issue of dressing up. Women have so many fashions in just about all adornments you can think of to choose from. I also enjoy surprising men with my strength of character (I am not always a damsel in distress so do not try to take advantage!!!!!!!).

women can do it all. men cant live without us. i have noticed from all the married people i know, women do all the work...men dont do much except provide semen for reproduction. women can be professional working people, mothers, strong, weak, feminine and masculine at the same time, bachelors, housewives, and usually all of it at the same time. but men do one thing only. if they try to act feminine, they will appear gay. most men just concentrate on professional workers, even some might struggle as mothers of their children if their wives or gf are not around anymore. i think it is all the curse of the "apple" from the garden of eden, and eve tempting adam to eat from it because of that serpent tricked them. women have to be the stronger one who can handle everything and anything so she can suffer childbirth and reproduction and crazy teenagers and psycho husbands who will leave them for their bimbo when the women start to menopause, and periods, postpartum depression, etc. but true, women have cooler fashions than men. men dont get much variety in clothes and shoes...that is why as a graphic designer, i like drawing females more. more fun to draw. with different cute hairstyles.

I started thinking about Adam and Eve...do you think that because Eve was Adam's tempter, that perhaps that's the reason we get to have periods, cramps and menopause? I never thought about it before.... I think drawing women is more interesting, because no matter what time period, I think women had some curves at some point! I love my curves and wouldn't trade them for the world!

Yes, shoes! And clothes, hairstyle, bags, and etc. and etc. Women can wear men clothes, such as pants and shirts. But men, and so with transvestites, would look silly wearing skirts and ribbons, or laces on dresses. Pardon me for my opinion, but it's just my subtle impression, not a brutal judgment. Women and can do more things than men. And just to point out, it's not an easy job to look after the baby, do the cooking, laundry and ironing, and other household chores. And can work or do business home-based for additional family income too. Men can probably do those things too, but not as neat, good and lenient how us women handle things. Women can be strong if we chose to. We can be gentle and fragile. We can be anything except being male. But more than anything in the world, what's best is being mommy. Women can conceive and deliver a baby. The greatest gift of life.

Thanks Charmedmom! I think the reason we get to do so much is because we're so much better at multitasking...and we don't feel the need to 'check' ourselves every five minutes! And I agree...men look absurb in our clothes!
