Blogging can be an online diary if you want it to be. Many blogs are now being made for informational purposes and resources. I have several blogs that range over a variety of topics. My most popular blog is http://blogaboutyourblog.com and ironically is about BLOGGING.

my first blog was posted at livejournal. this serves as my online diary and so the messages there are private. later on, i created a multiply account. i only post a blog at multiply just about anything that comes to my mind - for public's viewing. my blog entries are all real and based from real-life experience. i don't really believe all the blogs i read over the internet. some maybe amusing to read but most are really informative.

Blog is not just an online diary...It can also be news or other informative stuff from one's experience or opinion... Since it may not always be an online diary, the posts may not be always real....I have come across a story telling blog whereby the blog owner writes his own original story and shares it with other people....It is a ghost story and from the way I read it, it is certainly not real.. Of course, there are blogs that convey the truth like what you said....but as to whether you choose to believe or not, its up to you ultimately...
