In Psalms 100, We R admonished to "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord" Why isn't the noise we send up more expressive, less sanitized than the crap (follow the $$$) I hear on the air compared to other music genres? I play Guitar & Bass, & on a good day w/practice, I am a baritone w/extended range on both ends. It's a gift... Why would the God of our fathers give me & others gifts like these if he didn't want us to use them, especially in his service? Shouldn't we B giving him our best efforts? Any thoughts?... Anyone? Have you heard any of the Christian rock, R & B, or Punk rock bands that play nowadays? I really love them! They are all very talented and use a wide range of musical styles. I agree with you that if God gave you a talent, shouldn't you use it? I used to think Christian Music was boring until I went to this one church that really had great music. Now, I don't think Christian music is boring at all. I don't know if you're aware of K-Love, but if you aren't I would try them out for a while. Or, you can find songs from Toby Mac, Grits, Jars of Clay, and others, too, if you haven't heard them. I don't know if they're your type of music, though.

I was going to say the same thing as desertdarlene. There are Christian artists that make Christian music anything but boring. She listed Toby Mac, Jars of Clay. There are also Pillar, David Crowder Band (who in fact use make a joyful noise within their lyrics), Jeremy Camp and so many more.

LOL I guess I'm know what you mean, but still, does christian music have to be boring? :-) I remember a quite famous hard rock band a few years back - they made interesting christian music.
