Isn't This Always How It Goes...?

About 3 months ago my younger daughter (she's 3) brought my glasses out to me in the living room. I told her I didn't need them at the moment and to please put them back where she got them from. She put them away for me and then couldn't remember where she put them. We searched the house high and low, I even offered my stepson a $20 reward if he could find them for me...but to no avail. Last week I gave up the search and decided to order a new pair of glasses. They are scheduled to arrive by the end of this week. This morning, I get out of bed and step on something hard. Lo and behold, its my glasses in the case. They had magically reappeared! Voila! Isn't it funny how things happen like that? Have you had a similar experience with something lost magically reappearing after you've purchased a replacement?

I bet as soon as you go out and buy a new one, the missing one will turn up! Haha.

oh wow, that is very typical for people - isn't it? well at least now you will have a good spare pair... for the next time they are misplaced. I find a quick prayer to St Anthony to be really helpful in finding lost articles... he is so faithful.

Yes, at least I am prepared for the next time they go missing! Haha. Is there a certain prayer to be said to St Anthony? Or do you just tell him to please help you find what's missing?

Oh yeah, isn't that true. It's gotten so I see an invisible pile of 'stuff' and under it are hidden our pens.. eyeglasses, etc from time to time, so I always say a quick prayer that the thing, whatever it is, will 'come up', and do you know, it usually does.. - The one that drives me buggy is the one where I finally throw that certain something out, thinking I'm never going to use it, wear it, etc.. and sure enough, right afterwards is when I need it..

..since writing that I've discovered at least three things that happened with just recently (when I did a good cleaning for Easter) but I can't for the life of me remember what they were.. which reminds me of something else that drives me buggy... but I forget what that is..

That happens to me too! I'll throw the "thing" out because it hasn't been used in months, and the second I throw it away then someone needs it. Ugh!

That actually sounds a bit freaky. How could you have gone weeks and not noticed your eyeglasses case on the ground by your bed? Or maybe you saw the case but figured the eyeglasses weren't in them and you just happened to open it up that day? This never happened to me where I bought a replacement, but this just happened to my sister a couple of weeks ago. She lost her needle and thread and couldn't find it for about a week. I believe she said she figured she left it at work somewhere, so she bought a new needle and thread. A couple of days after she bought the new one, I happened to be in her room, looking under her bed (for our cat who was hanging out under there), when I look at the side and I found her old needle & thread. It was very close to the edge. She wouldn't see it if she were standing, but if she were sitting on the floor, then it would be visible. I think it's a case of her not looking hard enough. I know if I lost something I'd definitely check under my bed for it.
