If a Genie came out of a bottle and gave you these two choices, which would you pick assuming you HAD to pick one and why?A: you are granted 100 million dollars to do whatever you want with, but you will only have 10 more years to live. B: You are granted 10 dollars, but you will live to be 100. Don't curse me now as I asked same question from my husband and the next words from him were, "What a shi*te genie."please say why as well.

I take the $10. Easy. Money isn't that important to me. I would rather live to see my kids grown and on their own (and enjoy the peace and quiet for at least a day after they leave...lol). 10 years isn't long enough for that.

I definitely want to live longer than 10 years. I want to see my baby grow up. Money isn't that important to me. Hey, as long as I'm healthy and have my family and friends around I don't need millions of dollars...to me the $10 is a bonus :)

I would ask the Genie for some time to think about it, say 15 years or so. Then I would choose the money and setup a trust that would provide for the security of my family well beyond even the 100 years I would have gotten from the Genie.

None i choose none because in ten years from now i will be 39 and by then maybe i will be having the best times of my life and maybe i will be so rich that a 100 million dollars will no longer be a temptation. i don't wanna live to be 100 but i also won't give away a second of my life for money. i have spent my life waiting for something amazing to happen what if it's supposed to happen 10 years from now? i won't allow my self to die right before it happens!and what if after i agree to take the money somehow i loose it! or what if i loose my health and fail to enjoy it! That's a stupid genie

I would take the 10 Dollars. Though money is important, living a long happy life is what living is about.

I do not wish to live until I am a hundred years old. I would take the first wish of the money and 10 years. The last thing that I want in my life is to live to be really old. Why not have the money and 10 years to enjoy it?

If I did not have kids then I would take the 100 million, but if I was to take it now, then my little daughter would only be 12, and I could not bear to leave her, even if it did mean she would have financial security for the rest of her life. So I will take the 10 dollars and live to see my daughter grow up (and my boys too of course) I will invest the ten dollars somewhere and hope that I could make more out of it, put the bottle(with the genie in it) in the recycling bin and that would be that! By the way I agree with your hubby, but great post, loved it!!

I think I would take the 100 million as well, I would live life to the fullest and also set my kids up for the rest of their lives. Hopefully it would be enough to help all my sibs out as well. Pay off all their house's or something. I really do not want to live to be 100. Oh and of course I would allocate some to several charities as well. My nephew has lukimia I think I would dontate to the Ronald Mcdonald house and St Judes.

I'd rather take the money.I'm afraid of living to long and becoming dependant. I'd rather have my children fight over the money i'd leave them.... Than fight over who get's to change my diapers.lol

I'd take the 100 million. Think of all the good you could do in 10 years with that much money! You could help hundreds of 3rd world families start a farm, dig a well, buy a herd of cows or start a business.... you could set up a health clinic somewhere, buy homes for dozends of homeless families, buy basic vaccinations for thousands of kids, the possibilities are endless.

I'd choose the 100 million dollars even if I got to live for only ten more years. I don't want to appear materialistic, because I am not, but then, upon analyzing it, you said I could do whatever I want with it. So I can travel, see the world and for sure the last ten years of my life will be filled with lots of memories. Of course, I wouldn't leave my family alone, I'd take them with me and share with my blessings. And if there are any money (for sure) left, I'd give part of it to several charities, so even if I started having materialistic intentions, in the end, I give something back and in that sense, great life didn't end in ten years, it will get to live to a hundred because lots of people benefited from it, as well. How I wish a genie will grant me just that! =)

I guess all of us will take the money because 10 years can be a long time to enjoy a good life -- all of us will be fulfilled even with just 10 years. However, if it will just be a week or worse, a day, then I think all of us will take the 10 dollars.

I would take ten dollars since I still have 100 years to live I can spend these years to earn the 100 million dollars to leave to my family. Other than that money is not that important than to the memories and time that I'm going to spend with them.

I'll have to say "B". I'm 55 but I still feel I have a lot yet to do a lot to live for. I want to see my grandkids grow up, graduate, maybe even get married and have some great-grandbabies for me! Besides, there's no way I could spend $100 million in ten years and you can't take it with you! Annie

Wow that's a tough one. I would die with my babies still young if I left in ten years, so I am going to opt for the $10 and 100 yrs. Tho I dread what I could see in 100 years, and I will probably be senile for most of it since I am almost there now. Or...I could take the 100 million, make sure my kids will all be taken care of when I die, then come back and haunt my MIL. That sounds fun. With the money I would donate some, but also make sure my hubby and children had pleasant memories of me before I leave.

I will accept 100 million dollars for 10 years instead of only 10 dollars for 100 years. 10 dollars could not make me rich and such amount is not as big amount like 100 million. Money is a power and l like to get such power to facilitate the life of my own self and also the life of my poor dependents.

Great question. I'd kindly accept the $10 and the time; time to love and counsel my family and friends (whom are also family). Time with my family is my true treasure in life.

though the choice a sounds pretty lucrative but dying at an early age i wouldn't want to consider.so i would go with the next option that is to live to be 100.if i die in 10 years i wouldn't be able to use the money but if i live to be 100 i will be able to earn lots more.and i might just try to flatter the genie to grant me one more wish if not 100 maybe 25 million dollars.you never know my flattering might just work???!!!
