I read alot and I tend to end up with alot of books, some i want to keep others i would love to pass on to other people. Ive looked at a site called bookcrossing which you can track a book youve handed on but its not one that "swaps" or "Trades" or passes on books that you can also pick up books at. Ive seen a couple sites for trading books that you have to be in the states to join..which im not. I'd hate to throw out the books...i have garage saled a bunch of them but i end up with more each time i go to another sale or to a library book sale etc. Any suggestions on bookswapping sites that might be canadian friendly?

The top one worldwide is BookCrossing - it has a whole subculture and is as much about people getting an ego trip out of having their boks tracked when they give them away - it would take me far far too long to go into it in detail, so look at bookcrossing.com for yourself. It is quite global. You can search for books easily. Of course you may find the one you want is geochached up in Alaska somewhere, but for some this is part of the fun or challenge. There are some nutters out there - but that is true about anywhere in any hobby. Hope you enoy it anyway!

there is a thread here on it too but the stupid site here will not let me post the link because pasting is banned to me - GRRRRRRrrrr I get so angry about that - they should TRUST me!

I'll have to check bookcrossing out a bit more.I joined it about a month ago when a book i received had the stickers for it in and the sender asked that I mark it. Thank you for the info. (The copy paste thing drove me nuts to begin with too. You have less than 400 posts left to go before you can do it!)
