I have always wanted to go to Scotland but never really had the chance yet. You are blessed to have been given the chance to visit Scotland. Each of Scotland's six cities has a distinctive character of its own but all guarantee their visitors a vibrant mix of history, culture and entertainment, stirred together with some of the best retail therapy in the United Kingdom! But if the cosmopolitan pace gets too much, then an escape to the tranquility of Scotland's breathtaking landscape is never more than a short trip from each. These six cities are Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, and Stirling. Aberdeen is a prosperous cosmopolitan city that boasts of rich architecture and rich culture. Dundee was once heavily industrialized and now developing exciting commercial, cultural, artistic, and scientific dimensions to take it forward into the future. Edinburgh is the country's capital and is one of Europe's most attractive and historic cities. Glasgow is Scotland's biggest city and a good place if you are after vibrant nightlife and fabulous shopping. Inverness is known as the capital of the highlands and it is an ideal base for exploring the many attractions in the surrounding countryside. Stirling is Scotland's heritage capital, the stage for some of the most significant events in the nation's history. But the city has also has a modern, cosmopolitan edge, thanks to its fusion of locals, students and tourists, attractive shops and leisure areas.

I've only been to Scotland briefly, but it's a beautiful country. Took the train to Edinburgh on a trip to England and saw the castle and Holyrood house (may be spelling that one a bit wrong). The history there is quite amazing, and the castle was more interesting to me than many in England.
