how do we take care of a member of our family who is mentally ill

One of our close family friend has a daughter who is around 40yrs now, only on diagonising around 6 months back it came to be known that she is mentally ill, and the treatment was started and now she is in a home where her doctor has adviced her to stay for a few months,before she can be home with her parents. The family lives in India, anyone can give a good suggestion as to how to look after her well?

If you really love that family member then why not? Just put yourself in the person's shoes. It's very difficult to see your own relatives not taking care of you when you are sick.

Its not easy being in India, and married into a different family.

well priya i can really understand ur situation as i also hav somewat same prob..1 of my family member is also mentally ill..but c there r various things which come into play as far as mental patients r concerned..is c violent or laughs,etc..so can try to help u out accordingly
