Do you believe in Demons?

There has been a lot of questions about God and the bible on here but not much about satan or his demons. Do you believe in them? Have you ever seen one? Maybe they are to blame for the hell in this world?

I actually saw what they call Poltergeist. You can consider that they are to blame for the problem of this world but, actually, we are to blame for them. Demons act only for as much as they are allowed by G-d, in order to bring us to repentance. That does not mean that they are not scary! They are.

Could you explain their limitations a bit more? I am not sure I agree, I think they act as far as we will let them. In other words if we will not rebuke them in our lives then they will run rampant. If you have scripture for your position I would love to read them.

Read the book of Job. They can act only as much as G-d allows them to. They can only scare you or possess You at the most. They can't kill You.

I'm not Christian and dont believe in the Christian God...which means I also don't believe in the Christian Satan which ALSO LOL means I dont believe in demons...In fact I honestly think that confused lost spirits of those passed on are mistaken for demons..

I don't believe in Satan obviously, since Satan is a Judeo-Christian concept. I do believe in negative energies, or in spirits that have negative intent. I don't really like saying "evil" I guess, because I see the world a lot more in shades of gray than that, and because destructive effects and negative intentions don't always go together. In fact, if I say "evil", it's usually when talking about something perpetrated by a human, not a natural or supernatural force. Some of the negative entities I have seen, however, could easily be called demons.

If you believe in God shewolf, and believe that the Bible is given to us by God, (another discussion), then, you know demons exist. The Bible plainly speaks of who/what satan is, as well as who the demons are. It speaks of how they became demonic and where they are currently. I don't believe in them, but I know they exist. I have experienced them AND seen a few. They are around us frequently, trying to 'steal, kill and destroy' us, and trying to separate us from God. They are not flesh and blood, although they can operate through flesh and blood. They are followers of Lucifer and are not going to 'minister to man' as God told them to from the beginning. They were created before man and think man should bow down to them. It's all in scripture - in Genesis mostly. "Maybe they are to blame for the hell in this world"? I believe they are indirectly to blame, as people fall away from God and His Grace and Favor, they open themselves up to be influenced and in many cases, controlled by what we know as satan and his angels, which we believe to be demonic. If (according the scripture) you believe Lucifer was cast out of Heaven and 1/3 of the angels made the choice to follow him, (and you believe the Bible is true), then you know demons (demonic angels) are real. They are also, in part, responsible for such a negative, demonic influence on so many people. I could go on,,,,,but suffice it to say, I don't think there are enough questions or discussions about satan and his demons. There certainly aren't enough people who believe they exist (in their lives).

i dont think demons exist. i just think that that concept was made up when ppl in the olden days were insane and ppl didnt know the cause of it, so they made up the idea that that person was possessed by a demon which would be their explanation.

I do believe in demons or evil entities. You cannot have good without evil. They are part of the same thing just opposite sides. I don't believe in the brimestone and fire hell really but I do believe that there is evil in this universe. There is a fair amount of it right here in this world making it impossible for me to try and deny it being around.

I'm skeptical about god and bible stuff, but I do believe in hell and evil spirits or demons, whatever you want to call them. I do believe they can "haunt" people and manifest themselves and torment people. I've never witnessed and evil spirit, but I've heard many, many stories from people I trust.

Yes, evil exists, whatever you want to call it. Christians call it demons, I've also read somewhere that they are called 'disembodied intelligences'. The reason why some people don't believe in their existence is that they try to visualise them and the image of horns and tails that was promoted in folklore doesn't seem very plausible to them. But spirits are spirits, they don't have a material body unless they inhabit one. The worse mistake we can make is trying to visualize them, cause we'll end up enriching the folklore with more and more false representations.

I do not believe in satan, demons or hell. And yes, I do have an explination for this. To me, life is about growing and learning. I believe in reincarnation. If in one life you do not learn all of the lessons you need to know, god will send you back down to earth in another body to learn the lessons you did not learn in your first life. He will keep doing so untill you have learned everything there is to know. If in one life you were racist, maybe in your next life god will send you down as a person of colour to show you how it feels. So you can learn to be free of judgment and critisism. No one can learn all of lifes lessons in just one lifetime, which is why I believe we are given many. Once we have learned everything we need to know on earth, then I believe we go to heaven. So therefore there cannot be a hell, as hell puts a limit on learning and growing. God wants us to learn and grow, so why in the world would he send us to a place that would stop us from doing so. I don't think it is even close to possible to put a limit on something so grande. That is my view on this topic, although I still respect yours and any others that may come along.
