I have heard and read information that say... breakfast is the most important meal of the day... but eventhough i know that that is true... i still don't like eating breakfast... a cup of hot chocolate is enough for me... I think this started when i was still working as a teacher and i had to wake up very early in the morning... no one will cook breakfast for me... and since i don't want to be late... i just drink coffee or chocolate... and then be on my way... But i was still able to perform my work well... i feel very hungry but i can always eat lunch early... So... am i the only one here who doesn't eat breakfast?...

Do you feel sick when you eat breakfast... one of my friends do... and the doctor cannot explain why... so like you, she would just drink coffee... and have plain bread afterwards... thanks for the response...

Well, breakfast doesn't make me ill... i am just used to not eating any... and i always just eat early and heavy lunch to compensate for the breakfast that i always miss... but how come you don't like eating breakfast if you grew up with a mother who always prepares one for the family... thanks for the response...

Well, i agree with your doctor... if there is indeed no negative effect for not eating breakfast... then we can forgo the positive ones... there should be a coffee drinkers club here in mylot... but if that happens... i might as well start drinking coffee again...

I don't eat breakfast during normal breakfast hours that is for sure. I am an insomniac and eat all my meals later than most. I usually only eat two real meals a day. On the weekends I am more likely to eat breakfast because my husband makes sure of it. I make sure my daughter gets balanced meals though. I just can't eat when I first wake up most days. Even when I was younger and still in school. I could make it until lunch if I didn't eat any breakfast. If I did, I would be absolutely starving a couple of hours later.

Your eating habit is quite complicated... but what's important is you are still getting the right nutrition for your body... that alone can compensate for not eating breakfast everyday... and that you make sure your daughter is eating right... thanks for the respones...

I eat breakfast.. I've heard that it can slow down your metabolism if you skip breakfast. Technically though if you have coffee or chocolate that is still breakfast as there are calories in it to help you get going! Sometimes my 2 year old will only drink milk for breakfast.

If that chocolate or coffee can be considered breakfast... then i have a misconception about it... i always thought that breakfast should consist of like eggs, bacon, bread, bagel, rice, etc... But then... if i drink only juice during lunch time... that cannot be considered as lunch... right?... Thanks for the response...

A drink of chocolate or coffee will not make breafast dear, that is a misconception. You have to have heavy breakfast and that too when you are young the body needs it. You can go without dinner or have a glass of juice for dinner / supper whatever you take. But for breakfast you have to have full breakfast for your energy to be maintained the whole day.

i never eat breakfast either because i don't have enough time, but mainly because i'm just not hungry in the morning, so your not alone at all on this one. i know a lot of people that don't eat breakfast in the morning. but i always hear its the most important meal and people who eat breakfast are usually thinner. but who knows

All doctors would say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day... but then.. i still think it depends upon the person... i don't believe that eating breakfast will make a person thin... i weigh 110 lbs and don't really gain any weight no matter what i eat.. thanks for being the first to respond to this discussion...

People who eat breakfast are not only thinner but also healthy. They can maintain their energy level till the evening. They will not feel tired by the evening. You can try it out and see for yourself. This has been my own experience.

I always eat breakfast. It is one of the main meals in a day. I can't skip it as I won't feel good to work when I am hungry. And it's not healthy to be without a breakfast.

No, you are not the only one. I don't usually eat breakfast either, although I do when we are on a road trip. I think that is because we go to sleep earlier when staying at a hotel than when we are home and it is nice to have a bit to eat before driving a long ways. Usually, I prefer to work 3 or 4 hours before eating, but I drink water upon arising and periodically throughout the day.

I like breakfast, but I do skip this meal sometimes. I actually do not miss it at all on weekends. I love to have that nice warm breakfast. I love that nice toast, eggs, waffles, pancakes. Do I need to name more? But these are really some great breakfast items. I heard also that breakfast is suppose to start your day off right.

My "breakfast" consists of a latte. I usually don't eat anything for a couple of hours. And I rarely eat typical breakfast food as my first meal of the day- occasionally I make an omelet, but even then it usually loaded with more veggies than eggs so I don't know that it even qualifies as breakfast food at that point...lol. I like cereal fine, but usually eat it as a midnight snack, not a morning meal...lol. OK, so sorry, that was pretty long winded just to say NO you aren't the only one. lol

I usually skip breakfast when I am at home...because I'm too busy getting chores done...and my first meal for the day will be around noon. It's not because I haven't cooked breakfast...but because I can't sit down to eat before I've finished all my work. But when I work...I need breakfast in the morning. Or else I feel tired when I get there. Now I'll be working at a school and the school provides snack (which is mostly breakfast items) around 10 in the morning and lunch later on around 1 PM. But I still will need breakfast in the morning because I have to reach school by 8.30 Am and don't think I can get till 10 am on an empty stomach and handle the kids without getting angry.

Most regular schools here are the same as yours except that school starts around 9 or 10 am. I even know of schools where the teachers aren't allowed to use the school transport. But I go to an international school which has a higher fee structure and the kids are provided with the mid morning snack and lunch (if opted for) and that is extended to the teachers too. Though the teachers take the school transport and reach along with the students, the new campus that I am going to provides separate transport for teachers because we have to be there half an hour earlier before school starts and an hour or two later after the children go home.

It is so very nice of your school to provide the breakfast... and 8:30 am is not a bad time to go to work either... in my country... school starts at 7 or 7:30 am which means that the teacher should be there 30 minutes earlier... and not many provide any kind of food... thanks for the response...

I very seldom eat breakfast. I've been that way ever since I was a child. I'm usually not hungry for several hours after I wake up. To be honest I also often skip lunch or have it very late in the afternoon and then just have dinner around 7 at night (I stay up till usually around 1am so it's not that late of a meal). I'm not a big eater as a general rule, probably why I'm so irritated at being overweight. I eat when I'm hungry and I'm not going to force myself to eat when my I'm not even if it is the time for it.

Don't ask me. I can't figure it out either. If I'm lucky I might eat two meals a day and small snack. I was healthy size up until puberty and then I started to gain weight and I've been over weight almost all my adult life. I've lost it at times but then it comes back. Unfortunately right now I cannot afford to pay for any testing my doctor might want to do so that's out. I am very big boned though, I'm considered x-large boned but still I would like to lose some of the weight. I will never be down to what some doctors want for me. I'd look like a skeleton. Some try to say i should weigh 120. I'm almost 5'9 and like I said very large boned. When I got down to 180 I looked very good and wore a size 12 (my bone size keeps me from going any lower in sizes). I'd love to be at that again but don't see it happening.

Well, as long as you feel healthy and great... i don't think there is nothing wrong with your weight... but if ever you get the finances straight... you can have your thyroids checked... i read that being overweight for no apparent reason can be linked to an over active thyroid glands... goodluck

I don't eat breakfast either , I get up to early , and that early in the morning who wants to eat . I work in a factory and I need lots of energy, for standing on my feet for 12 hour shifts but still , I just cant . When I was married the first time around , I actually tried to eat breakfast with the kids , and I think it made me sick and didn't want to do anything ,so that don't work for me . My breakfast consist of PEPSI and off to work .

I could easily not eat breakfast, because I am not hungry on a morning, but I make myself eat it, because otherwise I snack too much between dinner and tea, which is not healthy, since I snack on biscuits.

Have you tried having a cereal bar or something small like that? That is what I did. Or get up a little earlier, because food is easier to face an hour or two after waking up.
