We always enjoy keeping in touch with friends and relatives on phone, especially those that are miles away from us, however when our bills come, it can be shocking. How can we reduce our telephone bills?

I've asked myself this very same question a few years ago and I asked around and also checked the internet. I initially subscribed to Skype and pay for outside calls (PC to PC calls are free though) but found out later that they don't have customer support and after a while the quality hasn't been the same (maybe because they became so popular) so I looked for alternative and found Onesuite.com and my bills dropped by at least 50 percent. Onesuite offers calling card and VoIP services. Rates and quality are very good plus very useful features like online access to your call history, transaction, etc. and the most important thing for me is their 24/7 live customer support. Just check them out at www.onesuite.com

Maybe you can just send them text messages or email them. It is alot cheaper than placing long distance calls. You could also get cell phones with the same calling plan and you both could talk person to person alot cheaper too.

I have used several services that helped reduce the telephone bill! I am not sure if the same services are available in other countries, but I will let you know anyway! The best one I ever used was only a few years ago! I signed up online for Vonage telephone service, it uses a computer line and you can sign up for unlimited phone calls! If you are calling outside your country, then you will have to ask about international telephone service! You can always ask your current telephone company for a deal, and they just may offer you one! Cellphone companies sometimes offer unlimited calling too! For the United States, you can call anywhere in the country for the same price each month! If you do not want to switch companies, then you may save money by calling in the evenings, usually there is a time of day that is much cheaper! We used to stay up until eleven in the evening so we could get the best rate! Now all we do is sign up for a service plan, like two hundred minutes of long distance calling for forty dollars a month! If you really need to save money, you can call and leave a message, then let the other party call you back and leave a message! It is cheaper since your message will probably be three minutes or less! For this plan, you have to let your friends and family know ahead of time not to pick up when you call, and that you will be leaving a message each time! Then, you can promise to call every Sunday for real! Weekends usually have a lower rate also! Those are the techniques I have used to save money and still be able to keep in touch! Now, if only we had enough time for all those calls!

Call your phone company and talk with them about their long distance plans. We have a great plan that we pay $19.95 a month. We have unlimited long distance to anywhere in North America. So that includes Canada and the States. This is also unlimited days, evenings and weekends. Talk with the phone company rep and ask them what the best one for your needs are going to be. That is the only way to reduce telephone bills.
