Would you want to live until 150?

Yesterday on ABC, there was a special report by Barbara Walters during which she spoke with doctors who claim that soon we could live to 150 years old. I'm sure most of you are saying "sure!", but they interviewed a 103 year old woman who was caring for her sick 80-yr-old daughter, and then the daughter died. In fact, she had lost almost all of her family and friends. And how about you married people out there? Could you be possibly married to your spouse for 100+ years?????

Excellent question.... I don't know if I would want to live that long 150 years is a very, very long time.. How ever though I would love to see my son have children and his children have children as well so living that long would be wonderful.. But I think though I would get really tired all the time being that old.. 103 is old but I am sure she isn't able to move as well as she once did.. Once we get up to that age it makes things twice as hard.. Humm I just started thinking when you said she lost all her family and friends I think that would be the time I'd want to go myself.. I mean than I could be with them again if you know what I mean in heaven...

..why does everyone assume marriage is some terrible chore? I want to be wed to my hubby for eternity! as it's wonderful and keeps getting better (together 30+ years now) but as to living to 150 years, I figure that will be an option for the wealthy.. I mean I can't even afford to go to the doctor what with a $500 deductible on our insurance (for each of us). And I think that will only get worse not better (especially if it all gets put in the hands of government bureaucracy). So if the wealthy get to live so long, what will happen to more of those who would be born?

What's wrong with being married to your spouse for 100+ years? I think that would be a blessing if anyone can achieve that. I would like to be happily married to my wife for as long as I live. As to living till 150, I don't think I'd welcome that. In fact, I don't think I wish to live beyond 100 years of age. Being that old, I would probably suffer some kind of ailments or health problems. I've seen it in others who have lived beyond 100. I'd rather live till a ripe old age where I am still as healthy as possible at the point of leaving this earth. That would probably be the best scenario for me.

As long as my spouse and I were both happy and healthy I would want to live as long as possible. I want to see my babies have babies and their babies do the same then some. I try to appreciate everyday because tomorrow is never promised. Its not always the quantity of life you have but the quality also. I would rather have 75 happy healthy years than 150 miserable sick ones.

I've already been married 52 years, I'm sure the next 48 wouldn't be that bad. But whats the point? Reincarnation is a Proven Fact ( ask any Hypnotherapist) and I'm already looking forward to a new body in my next lifetime. The problem I see is overcrowding the Planet. Earth's population is growing by leaps and bounds already. What would happen if we had half as many people again to feed and Care for? So My answer to your question is No! I'm enjoying life at 74, but I'll be ready to give it up by age 100. (my parents both lived to 94) C'ya round!

I don't want to live that long if I'm alone and not in good health already but if in that age I am still strong and my life is great and wonderful then why not.

There is no way I want to live to be 150 years old. I definitely don't want to outlive my children. I also don't want to be a hinderence to our children when I am elderly. As for being married to my husband for 100+ years...well we are only at 3 now...ask me again in a few more years.

Yes if I could be reasonably healthy and sound of mind I would love to be that old who knows what the future will bring us and it could be really exciting to live that long.

Look if one day we can live until 150 then people will get married at 50 and have children at 60 ! All our life will be different! I do not care if i live until 150 but i want to have good health and have my mind! These are the most important things!

Yes it depends on how my life is. If I am enjoying life, then sure but if not, then forget it. It's quality that matters, not quantity.

Yes I do think it is very much possible if we really look after ourselves and do not put so much unnatural products into our bodies then I think it is more likely that we will indeed live longer. There are too many of us just going about life not thinking about what we are really doing to our health and really reducing our chances at a longer and more healthy life. Everyone would love to live more and be able to do more in their life but we are constantly bombarded with so many processed things that we have forgotten to go back to basic and simple and more natural way of life. However society is becoming more health conscious and so that goal of living longer should be achievable if one desired it and put a plan into action for it.

I would never want to live that long. First of all, I am in my 60's now, and I can tell you for sure aging is not for sissys. It hurts in places you didn't even know you had places. But most of all I can't bear the thought of outliving my family and friends. And then there is quality of life. That is a definate issue with me.

Hi Fec! Now if living to 150 is looking like I do now then sure otherwise i'm not sure i'd want to have my children caring for me and they be in pain too! It all depends on how the body is cause the mind is still ok lol..meaning mine is

I would like to live until I'm 150 as long as I wasn't suffering from a disease or cancer, and as long as I had my family and friends around (atleast most of them). 150 years is a long time to be living, especially considering that the average person these days lives to be between the ages of 70 and 80. It's crazy what science is starting to do; good in a way, however if everyone lived to be that old, the planet would become over-populated. If I were married, I think I could live with my spouse for 100+ years. I'm sure they'd get on my nerves once in awhile, but there's something comforting about the one you love being by your side; it makes everything worthwhile.
