What does the star by our names mean? The star represents our reputaion on this site. A blue 10 star is the highest ranking anyone can receive. To see your score, just move your cursor to the star and you will see a 100/100 if you are lucky. This is the HIGHEST reputation you can have here. You will not receive a star until you have a rating of 100. How to rank discussions? Below every discussion of the right hand side is a +,-,! sign. To give a discussion a good rating, you would click the + sign. If you don't like the discussion, you can give it a neg rating with a - sign. (I have never done this). If you think the discussion is against the sites guidelines, you can click the ! sign to report it. You can find more information in the FAQ section of the site, this is just a short tutorial. I know there are a lot of new members, that are trying to learn, I thought this might benefit them and anyone else that don't know this.

LOL no if you a discussion, comment, reply, etc. gets deleted, that has something to do with the star going down too according to the FAQ. I rated you

Thanks for this icy, it is rather confusing and it is terrible when I have been here for a month or so and still don't know all the ins and outs. Good explanation here. Hopefully the newbies will see it. I have just read another discussion about the numbers in the stars and why two people both with 95/100 have different coloured stars (i.e. one blue and one red). It seems that it depends what your average is and how near it is to the 100. Phew very confusing but interesting nonetheless! Keep posting!

LOL You're welcome. I did this so it would help others. There are so many newbies that don't have a clue about the ratings. I just found out about 2 weeks ago and so I figured other's didn't know about it either.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I know I had alot of questions when I first joined here and I did not know how the star rating worked or how to get it. We must post at least 100 post points to be awarded a star also. You have pointed out some really good things for new members who have questions.
