Did you fall for an April fools joke this year?

I'm not sure if every country views April first as April Fools Day. But I know a lot of people are very familiar with that concept. So yesterday on the first, did you fall for an April fools joke? All day I was prepared and ready to spot any a mile away. But I DID get taken. I was watching a sports program on TV and they were doing a story that I got really excited about. I was thinking how cool it was, and that I wanted to call my dad and tell him about it. Right after they finished the story they looked at the camera and said, 'April Fools!' So that is all I fell for, but I was disappointed the story was not true, lol. Did you fall for any this year? Or did you instigate any of those AF jokes this year?

I did not....well, I don't think it was an intentional one! My little granddaughter stayed with me on Sunday night and monday. Yesterday I lay in bed thinking....why isn't my alarm going off and decided to just get up. So I turn on the light and it's 15 minutes before I have to leave for work...some little fingers messed with Grandma's alarm clock and Grandma was almost late for work....so I was kind of fooled! LOL....a local station gave the weather forecast and put all 70's and 80's for next week...then said April fools...I guess they also GOT alot of people!

usually my dad tries to get me big on AF day, but i think he forgot about this year and i didnt remind him! I fell for a small one by my mom, we had been working at her house and had to stop to go to Home Depot and Walmart and I was already irritated because it was stopping the work i was trying to get done and she said "we have to go to Ace Hardware too". I was getting really irritated with her about it because I only had a certain amount of time to work, and then she said 'April Fools!!!'..i was relieved that we didnt have to make a 3rd stop!

I had a few come through on Mylot and through my emails but I sussed them out immediately, no one practiced a prank on me offline, but I didn't do much on April Fool's day and besides there is a rule that you can't do jokes after 12pm in the UK, by the time I was out off to the gym it was way past 12 but I can't see anyone at the gym doing any practical jokes. I never instigate any to be honest, I don't think I ever have, boring ain't I LOL!

I was too busy that if an April Fools Joke came and bit me, I would have missed it. It has been a long time since I heard any and one of the ones was that they were going to change the lines across the globe into metric. When I lived in Saskatoon, the radio announcers well fooling everyone all the time, but here in Manitoba they do not have much of a sense of humor. Anyway, I also stopped April Fooling. Way too busy for that.

I know what you mean. It seemed that when I was in college the April Fools jokes became more extensive, and I didn't find it very amusing. I was so busy trying to do my work, that I didn't need someone messing with my attention span, even if it was just a joke.

ya i did...and not once or twice, but 4 times..lol! guess i am a real fool, and i deserved to be fooled, or rather people don't have to work too hard to fool me. but its all a lot of fun, especially when you come to know you have been folled, the immediate feeling is soo absurd, full of irritation and amusement at the same time. you feel awkward and embarrased, and happy and excited at the same time. sometimes it gives you happiness cause you feel important, to know that people took a great deal of efforts in order to fool you. but from another point of view, you feel a bit bad as well to know that out of all the people , you were chosen to be fooled on good old April Fools' Day!haha!

Yes, when I've been fooled in the past I felt embarrassed and awkward. But as I've gotten older I just have to laugh. : )

I did. My boss sent an email out to everyone that one of our worst employees was coming back in management capacity. We all freaked out. We couldn't believe it. We were sending him emails asking him if he had lost his mind and what was he thinking??? He came in laughing his butt off because he had gotten us. He then tells us he's been planning this for 3 months.

Well, I worked my evening job that day. Two different times one particular adult mentally Handicapped client looked at me and said "Your husband's here" and both times, poor girl, I said "You're rigt, he is' because he was there taking my car to fuel it. Later he was there putting a treatment on the windshield to make it shed water. My husband was off work, the trustees "pranked" his uppity uppity boss. The next day boss had left a belated prank for my hubby, but the trustees told him about it so he could avoid it. Who do you think the trustees like? Right, my hubby.

This is the first year nothing ever happened to me and I didn't really pull anything on anyone else. I thought for sure someone at work would pull something, but nothing ever happened. It was a pretty regular day. I am a preschool teacher to four and five year olds and they weren't even doing anything! My April Fool's Day was pretty boring I suppose. I'm glad nothing happened to me though. :P

In the UK we have a documentary programme called Panarama, in the 1970's they did a special programme about how and where spagetti was "grown"! The hour long show went onto explain everything from planting the trees to harvesting the spagetti from the spagetti trees and showed women (well it was the 70's) picking spagetti off the trees and putting it into their baskets lol. Ofcourse this was an April fools joke but thousands of people honestly believed it, probably because at the time spagetti and pasta was relatively new to the UK. In the 80's my friend fell for an April fool like a treat, the gag was thet Heineken had canned a lager with condensed molecules, so out of a half pint can you'd get 1 pint lager, we let him believe it until he had been to every off license and shop in town when we told him he had been had lol :)

Nope! Not me! I played it smart and stayed home all day. I have too many friends that get a big kick out of playing April Fool's jokes on me, so I figured I would get the better of them and just stay hidden. LOL!

I was actually spared this year! American Idol tried to put an AF trick, but it was pretty transparent. My kids were with their grandparents so I escaped there. Other than that, my husband and I had a little vacation with the kids gone and we didn't really leave the house.

I don't really do or watch for April Fools jokes anymore.. I did when I was younger, but no more, in the first place, I can't always remember that it is April Fools day and also I am not sure what would be funny or what would be hurtful anymore.. April Fools jokes were always big in my younger day, but now, everything is different.. We always did the "idiot" AF jokes but nothing harmful or hurtful.. Ours were such as "your pants are unzipped" or "your mother called and said you were in big trouble", "your dad said that when you got home you were grounded".. All of the AF jokes that I remember were of the the harmless variety..
