I do not have either. I really have no use for one at the moment either. If I had a need for one I think I would probably pick the actual fax machine over just a fax modem.

I could use a computer as a fax machine and I have in the past. However, it is a little bit harder to explain to my wife, so I tend to set up our home fax service as a dedicated machine. Perhaps I should revisit that idea. There can be some very neat services you can run on your computer. Not just a fax, but a whole answering service sort of system.
