Here in the Philippines, rice is also the main food. I think most Asian countries have rice as their staple food.

hey abollegala I am from India and I think you are well aware that rice is our main staple food . Indian s are based on agriculture and maximum people are doing paddy cultivation . We prepare various items with rice like fried rice, jeera rice, ,some parts of india called sweet rice which is also termed as payas/khira, the combination is rice, milk & sugar. pkc3000

In Malaysia, rice is our staple food. However, we also eat food made from wheat. Of course, there are also other food we eat.

Here in the US, we are a variety country, we don't have a real "staple" food like rice. The closest I would say, would be the potato, we eat it mashed, baked, twice baked, french fried, hash browns, wedges, patties, curly, with and without toppings and spices. But even with that, not counting fast food, I probably only have potato with 1 or 2 meals a week (fast food serves potato with just about everything).
