I'm a really big reader so my key thing is that I have enough books with me to last the holiday!
I normally take books that I'd read at home, nothing special. I don't suppose I'd take anything too in depth as I might not get to concentrate on it, and I'd not take anything that I wasnted to read again as I tend to leave my books behind when I'm through with them.

I also like to read books with fairly short chapters whilst on holiday but end up always taking a few Agatha Christie novels, although the trouble with that is that I end up having to read back a page or two to remind myself of where I'd got to in the story. I do enjoy reading on holiday, after all, holidays are for relaxing and doing things you enjoy and I find reading enjoyable and relaxing :)

I usually take whatever booking I happen to be reading at that time. I take something that I can really sink my teeth into. I am a night owl so I stay up longer than everyone else. Even though I am on vacation, I can still read over 100 pages a day. It really depends on what we are doing.

Normally rent a villa in Spain when going on holiday - as such normally spend most of my days by the pool reading. Once took ten books for a week in Majorca, that included the Bourne trilogy by Ludlum.
Love to just relax and read knowing that there wont be any interuption
