As well all know, babies and kids love cartoons. My son is completely obsessed with Shrek, we've been watching it every day probably since November. What other kids movies, similar to this one, that has singing and bright colors? We've bought him so many movies, but he just doesn't take interest to them like he does Shrek.

My niece was obsessed first with Beauty and The Beast. She not only had to watch the movie but I had to read her the book several times a day. She wasn't a big speaker and couldn't say Beauty and the Beast though at that age. She said "Papa" which was her indication for the movie. What Belle called her father. It had us confused at first till she grabbed the VHS case and said it. Her next obsession was "The Lion King". She would not go to bed until she heard the song "Hakuna Matta". We would put the movie in and then while she got washed up or got into her nightgown we'd fast forward to it. Thankfully she didn't catch on. Neither movie have I watched in a very long time. Can't imagine why.

He's not quite old enough to speak, but when he's upset, watching that is the only thing that calms him down. I've watched the movie several times a day since November. He's been watching some of the Backyardigans, but Shrek is what he wants to watch. He actually watches too. That's so cute. I can't wait for my little boy to start talking. I'm hoping to get the lion king for him soon. Hopefully it's one of those movies that I will somewhat be able to bare watching for months on end. Thanks for the reply!

I know what you mean on having to watch a movie for long periods. When my niece was just over 2 she wanted to watch a dinosaur movie but not one of the Land Before Time ones. Only other one I knew was Jurassic Park. I rented it and figurd she'd fall asleep during it. Oh no..we watched it so many times over the next two days I was sure we'd break the tape. We had to go out and buy it. You never know what they will like or what they will demand to watch. Have you ever heard the song "Mr. Mom" by Lonestar? The one line in it is "Rewind Barney for the 15th time". How true.

That's a new movie that just came out. He loves movies and cartoons that have music in it. I'm sure he'll love that one from all the colors. Thanks for the idea!
