is there any offices that can help someone who is looking for their biological parents? if you have friends or you have known someone who have the same story, were they successful in finding them?

Hi there, yep I have been through the process, many years ago now.Had to go through The Department Of Youth And Community Services here in Australia. It was a long drawn out procedure, however worth the effort because for me it brought aabout closure.I do think anyone contemplating searching for biological parents must prepare themselves for the unexpected. In my case I found My Mother and three half sibblings, two of whom I meet, one did not wish to know me..lol..wise girl!My Biological Grandmother was apparently very annoyed and also did not wish to know me. I must say I have been able to move on,and more importantly my mother was comforted in the knowing of what had happened to her child. She was only seventeen when secretly whisked off to a home for unwed women, and she felt upset she was never given the opportunity to even sit down and talk about her feeling, her Father never was told. I found her to be a lovely woman, whom married when she got a little older, then had two more daughters and a son.At the time of our meeting she was a widow, having lost her husband several years before. We kept in contact for about a year,in this time she meet my children and shared in our lives, and visa versa. I do believe the laws in Australia have been relaxed since, allowing more people the opportunity to make contact.

I have read news about a rich man in England, who hopes to find a heir to inherit his fortunes. His criteria is to look for someone in the world, who has the DNA closest match with him. I do not what is the outcome now, and I hope he got his ideal heir. Many had tried their DNA test in hope that they could become his heir. So, I think this is one of the way to find the biological parents for someone too!

There are lots of agency or offices that would help a person to find his biological parents. Or it would be better to talk to the parents of the adopted child, they may have an idea where to start looking.
