The longest I've kept in strong contact with is 17 years and going strong. She is the bestest friend I've ever had. (that sounds like the words of a child lol) I don't somewhat keep in contact with a friend I've had since Kindergarden which would be 26 years, but we only talk through emails every so many months.

I've known my friends for years, but two of them i've been friends with for 32 years. My newest friend i've known for 6 years.

I have had a friend for 37 years or so. We were roommates in college and still keep in touch. We live in different parts of the state, and sometimes we may not talk for a few months. Then out of the blue, so to speak, she will call, or I will call her and we catch up on our lives. She is also one of the people that I could call anytime if needed. She was also the one who drove two hours when I was visiting my dad when he was very sick in the hospital in another town....and she met me at the hospital as I was visiting him so I would not have to be alone. So, when I think of friendship, this is one of the relationships that come to mind. There have also been some working relationships over many years where a friendship developed as well. These are the people who become a form of extended family as we grow older and our actual family members are deceased. These are the people we have truly connected with while on our journey on this planet.

My best friend is my sister, so I would have to say 35 years. If family does not count, then I would say 20 years which is how long I've known my next closest friend.

I have had my bestfriend Nelda for about ten years and my home town best friend for seventy some years though we seldom see each other as she is in South Dakota and I am in ca.
