Unfortunately you seem to have gotten the colicky baby, ny second son was like a crying machine. He cried constantly he had colic so bad they put him on meds. But he cried all the time to the point where family members had to relieve me so I could get some sleep. So yep babies can be like this. LOL!! Hope that you get a good grade for your parenting class.

i cant beleive your pediatrician put yer baby on medication for colic. thankfully, i had a very good pediatrician, and educated me on what colic actually is. which contrary to popular oppinion isnt gas or an upset tummy.. its over stimulation. some infants arent able to process lots of information and it quite literally fries their little brains until they scream. after the doc told me to limit her exposure to "new" things for a while, the situation got much better.. and the only instances shed have were when others decided to ignore me and get her riled up and get into her face constant, then shed scream and scream.

Tessah, My son wasn't be over stimulating to new things at all. He had really bad gas in his little baby tummy trust me we did tests before I would even put him on meds. It wasn't new things at all. I lived with my gram I was the only one taking care of him, my gram would help and my Hubby well let's just say he was starting truck driving and was gone all week. He had a bassinet that wasn't decked out in all colors it was white. We kept the shades drawn and the t.v. low any ways the t.v. wasn't even in the room with him. There was no one Playing with him 24/7 .. My major concern was that he had acid reflux like his sister where she would projectile vomit and be able to hit the other side of the room. Wow that was fun. He was like that from day one. It just didn't appear at 2 months it was from the time he was in the hospital till he hit about 7-8 months I think. I went through so many formulas to with him becuas ehe has to have the formula for that was hypo allergenic , Alimentum.. It was nothing to due with stimulation sometimes it just has to deal with what the child is eating and how the body reacts to it. My last three never has it.

Tessa, I have never heard of your doctors theory on colic. One of my girls had colic from the time she was born until 3 months old. she was not over-stimulated at all. She was in pain and probably overtired from crying so much and not sleeping enough. Back then they did not have meds for it. now they do and I hear they work quite well.

Some babies are like that. They ALWAYS cry for a reason. The problem is that it is sometimes difficult to figure out the reason. It could be that she is collicky. You should check with your doctor. If that is what it is, there are meds that can help with it.

my daughter from the age of 2 months until 5 1/2 months, like clockwork.. from 3pm until 7pm. would scream uncontrollably.. its called colic.. and most babies usually outgrow it by the time theyre 6 months old.
