A friend shared this to me.. it makes us realize what is our money type and how we treat money and how does it affect us.. What's your money type? By Susan McCarthy Our emotional relationship to money shows itself, not only in our financial decisions, but also in our attitudes, beliefs and actions. That’s why it’s important to know which money type you are. In my work, I’ve identified seven types that each relate to money differently. Take my quiz and find out which one most fits you. Here's the link: http://www.guideposts.org/quiz_gpmag/Quiz.aspx Here's a sample result: It's mine.. Your Results Your score indicates that you are more than one money type. But not to worry, many people are not pure types. In fact, I suspect most of us display traits of all these styles at various times in our lives or when we have differing amounts of money. Here’s a list of the types with a brief description of each. The “All is Well” type Congratulations! You’re an All is Well Type. You approach money with confidence and decisiveness. You’re quite at peace with money, and appreciate it for what it is: a simple tool. You may be wealthy, or not, by society’s standards, but it hardly matters. Money is only a part of your total health and well-being. The “Spread the Joy” type Congratulations! You are a Spread the Joy Type. This is someone who understands that great joy is to be had in using money with generosity and compassion. You are not controlled by your money, but rather use it in ways that express your deepest values. You use money with awareness not only for your own good, but for the good of others as well. What is yours? Did it make you realize something?

I'm careful with money and always plan ahead of time. Of course I believe that one should make the most of every amount one has. This doesn't come cheap. One has to consciously plan ahead and learn the discipline to choose the best course of action to follow as far as spending money is concerned. This involves not to be an impulsive spender. I mean, even if money is spent on what was never budgeted for, it should be a wise thing to do at that point in time. Keeping out of debt is a good way of being a good money manager. However, debt is not totally bad. One may fall into debt to raise money to invest to better one's lot tomorrow. In that case, the return on investment should justfy the taking of the loan. What happens if, after careful planning, one still encounters financial woes? I feel the candid thing to do is never to despair. As far as one has a source of income, one should be committed to settle one's bills as promptly as possible. Moreover, one should go to one's creditors explaining the situation to them and letting them know clearly how one intends to pay them back. One has to be committed to keep one's words.

Hi JeannieMay I'm a type that is very generous with money and even though i know i have to pay bills too, I figure it will work out in the long run if someone needs some from me..not that i will ever be rich to buy fancy things..not that i'd want to, but i'm ok and can take care of myself.

i am always very careful in using my money and i calculate everything... even to the penny... for me, every single penny counts and it is penny that will make dollar and dollar that will make hundred of dollars... i learn that if i can appreciate small money, then i will be blessed with more... especially nowadays everything is increasing in price and life is becoming harder... i have to be wiser in spending my money...

I would say I'm an All is Well Type: "You may be wealthy, or not, by society’s standards, but it hardly matters." Wealth is not important to me, I just need enough money to live on and then all is well for me. When I have a lot of money I am happy to give some to charity, and I will still try to spend money only on what I really need.
