My Bunny Doesn't Hump?

I have always heard the saying "doing it like rabbits", but I guess I never really thought about the fact that I've had my rabbit since she was a baby. She's now almost 2 years old and she doesn't hump anything, EVER. A co-worker came over and played with my rabbit and it humped her hand a little bit. I put toys in her cage and she doesn't seem interested. Why doesn't my bunny hump anything? I don't think it's normal?

They don't always do anything, especially if they're single. And females are less likely to hump than males. Is your rabbit spayed? If not, you should get it done.

No my rabbit isn't spayed. I don't have her around other rabbits ever so I never saw the point in getting it done.

There is definitely still a point in getting it done. Rabbits have a high incidence of uterine cancer if left unspayed. They also do better with litterbox training if spayed. You might be able to find a low cost clinic. Around here you can get it done for $30 if you are low income.

We've had a male rabbit now for three years and he's never humped at anything. We've had him since he was a baby as well. He liked the toy carrot we gave him. He chewed on it and tossed it about but that was about it. I don't think your rabbit would try to hump anything unless there was a male rabbit around. It sounds like your bunny is normal and I wouldn't worry.
