How do I get people to see a discussion?

Today there weren't many discussions from my friends that I wanted to respond to, so I took a trip to the link "Discussions with no responses" There I found a discussion that was very interesting. It was about a woman who has just came to Mylot. She enjoys the community, but has one problem with it. You know about the ads that we have here all over the place? Well some may have noticed, and some haven't, but some of those ads are about how to get prescription drugs Fed-Ex'ed to you. This woman is a recovering addict from prescription drugs, and has been clean for 10 months. This is unnerving her because she is still in the shaky period. Anyway, her discussion is about how to get MyLot to understand that these type of people also visit here, and it may not be so good to have those type of ads. I suggested to her that she gather the people that respond in the affirmative, and ask MyLot admin if there was anything they could do. This would be a perfect plan, unfortunately, her being new to Mylot, she doesn't have many friends, and she unwittingly posted this discussion in the general discussion area. I would like to get her some more attention, because this is an issue that affects a good portion of the people here. I can't post a link in a discussion, because that would get it deleted (TOS). Messaging all my friends is out, because I have 17 pages of them, it would take too long. So how do I get some eyes on her discussion? Any ideas?

That would not get you deleted if it's not a post about another site like mylot. The link would be about your post. I did this as well with a post I wanted to show others. I could not find the link to put here for others. So you may want to go get it.

Okay, I see my mistake. I was errantly referring to this bullet point in the Don'ts of the MyLot TOS Post comments in threads for the purpose of drawing attention to another thread on a different subject. I am not doing that, so here goes. For everyone that is posting after gifts, the url is: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1465507.aspx Even though I have explained a lot of it here, please read and respond to this discussion, she needs all the help we can give her

I think noticing her discussion will not be hard. you just add her as a friend and then keep notify on for her. it will help you to get her discussion and answer them.posting alionk of discussion i think will not be deleted.

Its not for me to notice her discussion, I want the whole of Mylot to have a chance to see it. She posted in the General Discussion area, where practically no one that has been here a while goes. We did have the idea posted to rewrite the post in a higher trafficked intrest, see if that helps.

I am one of your friends and I hope that I can put something of interest to you to post. I think you should pick a couple of good friends, and find out if they are interested in some of your topics and ask them to comment.

Thanks for the tip mef, but I am looking to get views to her discussion, not mine. She has a little more trouble doing that, because she is new, and some people don't listen to newbies as much. We already have a topic and discussion, as my friend has moved her discussion here: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1466907.aspx and we are trying to find ways for her to get the eyeballs on this discussion since she is a newbie.
